Patrick was born into happiness and lives on in sadness. His mate, Meerah, was originally just staying for a brief period of time while her clan underwent reconstructions and expansions. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months, months into almost a year, and Meerah remained with the clan. Patrick fell in love with her, even though it was against the rules to love someone who doesn't belong to the clan and won't be staying. But the longer she stayed, the less he cared, and the two broke all the rules to be together, eventually having a nest of four. But during a famine season, Korg died, and Darkleer ran away to join the Gladekeeper. Muerta, dissatisfied with herself, began hiding her true skin, and Meerah was devastated. Patrick fought against her bitterly in the end, as she allowed a bamboo phytocat to drain her energy, to kill her. In the process, his face and wings were severely bloodied; he still wears the stained wraps to mourn his love. Not long ago, his daughter Clairena ran away to join her mother's clan, and left Patrick with only the bitter Muerta.
