Born to a royal family, Imperium grew up in a life of luxury. He was raised to be a ruler, though left at a young age for the sake of getting away from the pressures presented by the court. He was quickly overwhelmed by his parents expectations of him as a dragon high within the hierarchy. As much as he loved his spoiled, regal lifestyle, the ferocity of the political scene and drama between court members drove him away as quickly as he could.

He chose instead to begin his own ruling, finding a plot of free land within the The Ashfall Waste's and setting up a small camp. It had been for himself, at first, but as others sought land to set up shop and taxes began to roll in, he chose to stay within his camp permanently. That camp grew; his leadership became more respected; and eventually his kingdom was born. It was small, and an intimate community, but enough that those around him recognized him as a king. He took on a queen not long after his ruling became established, another wanderer who claimed to be from noble blood, and the two shared a firm but forgiving grasp on their subjects.

They were never unkind, careful to be sure their powers were kept in order so not to lose the trust of their peons. With that trust a castle was eventually built, small in stature but decorated to the teeth in the riches accumulated by the couple. Life was good, easy, and peaceful.

However, as tragedy goes, his luxury did not last.

A Shade disease was brought within the confines of the camp by a passerby, and it quickly took a choking hold on the occupants of Imperium's kingdom. He tried to use his authority to force his subjects to eradicate those infected, but close as they all were to each other, they quickly turned on the decision. He and his Queen, Ferali, became shut-ins within the castle in fear of catching the sickness, and their popularity plummeted. Finally, outrage and the plague both became too much for the two, and they fled from their home back into the wilderness in search of salvation.

Instead, they found The Sheep Clan; an unsavory place but a safe one. Though he still retains his title as a king, he has lost all that made him feel like royalty. Even his lover, Ferali no longer respects him, claiming it was his fault that the plague got so out of hand. She misses the good life; they both do. Things have yet to be the same since.

His Charge is unknown; some speculate it might have been his original territory, and his depression is partially due to the loss of it.
