Caenis is a warrior from the light region who joined the ranks of the lair since here her celibacy was actually respected.
While uninterested in romantic relationships, she holds a strong fondness for books, hatchlings, and sewing (despite her size). She knit the scarf the clan leader, now a close friend, wears. Overall, Caenis is a passionate proponent of an orderly life. She is greatly annoyed by carelessness, particularly the sort that results in the tarnishing of beautiful things and objects of historical value.

Though she lives in the Starfall Isles now, Caenis remains loyal to the Lightweaver and still can feel a bit out of place among all these Arcane dragons. But she still feels at home here in spite of these hangups. Not only that but someone has to be grounded and it sure isn't these starry-eyed magelets so she feels the need to step in. As leader of the Belfry's knights, she is always monitoring the lair-- quick to notice (and just as quick to dispose of) trespassers and upheaval.

Aster is her adopted son.

Caenis was a bit exasperated. She showed it in her usual way,
by not visibly showing it at all, but she was exasperated. That monster was a ticking time bomb in a land that was already enough of a ticking time bomb. Caenis had traversed the Hewn City in one of her pilgrimages. She had seen an Emperor for herself, seen multiple, in fact. This reminded her too much of those behemoths and it shook her to her core. It was as if Chimes had invited the Shade into her own home, into their home. If she did not feel so responsible and loyal to this clan she probably could have left over this.

"But Chimes..." she hesitated. Her light heritage was coming
into play, she hated questioning authority. She could be unwavering at anyone else but this was the clan's leader she was talking to. However, Chimes respected her and saw her as a friend so she must. It is what her leader would want her to do.
"Do you think it is wise to let her linger?"

Chimes sighed, not at Caenis but at the situation.
She kept her head level, "Probably not, but I would not be here today had I ever acted wise," she turned her head and made eye contact with Cyn. The Skydancer offered nothing so Chimes looked forward once more at her immense friend.
"How bothered by this are you? Should I reconsider my stance?"

What a hard place to put Caenis in. The ridgeback shook her head reluctantly.
"No... I trust in the power of this clan to subdue her if it comes down to it."

"But you'd rather act preventatively, I see," Chimes stated.

Caenis nodded. Her ladyship knew her well.
