Nanette was born in a harsh and somewhat small clan, the place almost seemed cursed as many dragons would often leave home but not come back, leaving the implication that they had died some cruel way while hunting or fighting something. Her parents were heirs to the leadership position and if she stayed, eventually she would have to handle the burdens that they would be taking over for. They wanted to save her from such a fate having to haunt her life, so when she was old enough for travel they brought her to a nearby arcane clan for her to take on a brand new and much safer life. Nanette wasn’t happy with their decision however, and as soon as she was given her own place to stay in the lair she hid in it and growled often at anyone who dared to approach her. The only ones who were allowed into her space were Ridley and Zevran, who still weren’t allowed very close to her but they would often visit and speak to her anyway. They talked about what was going on in the clan, friends she could make and things that she should come look at. Eventually she was coaxed out of her hiding place of sorts in order to truly get a look around at the place that like it or not, she would be living at for some time at least until perhaps her parents would come back to get her. But while she was getting this tour from them a centaur nearly leaped out to attack Ridley while they were talking, and Zevran hadn’t reacted fast enough in the moment but Nanette did. She knocked the beast onto the ground with a headbutt, and when she turned to see seeing the looks of shock and fascination on her leader and their mate’s faces it was like something changed with her. She started to open up more to the clan, showing off to all of them how tough she could be in attempts to impress them. For her brave actions she was given the title of a sort of guard, not quite the same as usual one though as her only goals were to deal heavy damage and keep the damage only onto her, and not the knights or defenders. Zevran called this kind of guard a ‘Tank’, a title that she proudly took on and excitedly talked about with the Captain as she felt more at home in Ridley’s clan day by day. She worries at times for her family and how they might be doing, but has become content even if she’s not exactly ‘friends’ with anyone in the clan other than Ridley and Zevran. She’ll crack sarcastic comments and tease her clanmates all day long but she always treats her leader and their mate with the utmost respect. Lore by AbyssalKing |
