The shrewd lastborn of Haematica's first nest, whose name is a warcry and means warcry and also is the name of a goddess personifying warcries. Alala's name honors her grandmother, and though she is the quietest and most approachable of her female relatives, she shows a complete lack of mercy when crossed.


She inherited the position of the Tribune of Health and Welfare from Tungesten, her mentor, who stepped down to investigate the disappearance of the Tidelord with her other student, Sunrise. Her input is required in all decisions where the health of dragons might be affected. She, in conjunction with Miscedence and Ashes, is the source of most of the zoning laws in the clan. Any decisions about food storage, proximity to magics, new medicines, and waste management pass through her. She is also personally involved in accessibility, care, and placement decisions in the cases of injured or chronically ill dragons in the lair.

Her marriage to Rubedo means she is part of one of the largest and most far reaching families in Aphaster.
