Putridus the 2nd was created by his master, who captured the poisonous currents of air that wafted through the area around the Fumarole Cauldron. He then bound these currents to his own Pearl and gave the magiced item to a newborn pearlcatcher, a wind egg he had acquired for this very purpose. The resulting creature was of both his essence, and that of the Cauldron which had birthed him.
