TAYO
THE EDUCATOR |
|
B I O G R A P H Y
Privilege can make people believe they're able to handle more than they truly can. After being raised and trained by the best, he thought it would be no issue; rogue atomatons were easy game for someone as skilled as he, surely. But he was wrong; the moment he faced down the first beast, although seeing the fight through, he was quite rattled by everything he had borne witness to. He left the Clan, embarrassed and shaken, to figure out what he would be from then. And then, he met Brande at the Trading Post, and heard of her Clan. Like that, his decision was made. He gladly shared his story with Ameobilia, presenting her with a letter of reccomendation gifted from the Clan he helped protect; she was glad to grant him refuge, residents of the Clan helping his nerves calm themselves and his focus re-align - before she presented him with the opportunity to join the STU. "You're rather skilled with electricity," she said; "And I have seen how you interact with our youth. You would be an asset to the STU, as an assistant and a teacher to our new recruits. Will you join us?" Well. His answer was made for him, wasn't it? |
Specialized Technology Unit
Without the STU to modernize the Clan's home, many a dragon would be left homeless or deathly ill. This is why Ameobilia's role in creating it has been so vital to so many dragons. If it did not exist, perhaps the fire might've been much worse, or Chazona might not have been able to cure the plague that hit. It truly is beneficial to any dragon. Though the elite of the STU reside in Querencia and handle affairs in their own home, Ameobilia hopes that one day they could hand off their skills and titles to a travelling dragon and extend their faction to other Clans. Mixing elements in the way that she and her own have managed to, in her eyes, would benefit so many Clans beyond just her own - and that, above and beyond being head of the STU and leader of Querencia, would be the thing that makes her life all the more worthwhile. Affecting others in the best possible way for a time that will outlast her is her ultimate goal. |

Quote:
Letter of recommendation for Tayo from Sapphire.
I have to give Tayo a lot of credit- when he heard rumors that our clan was struggling to fight off a lot of corrupted Lightning-element contraptions he came charging right, in despite the danger, to ask if we could use his help.
The thing is... well... I can't blame him for panicking at the last moment. Old machinery gone wild is pretty terrifying. All jagged edges and squealing joints and eyes crackling with electrical ghostfire. Tayo was all gung ho and ready to stand by us until he saw the first one coming- big thing that looked like a Silverbeast but made out of metal, dried blood clotting up the gears around its mouth- and I think that's the moment he realized he'd gotten in way over his head.
He stayed and assisted in the takedown, helping me overcharge the thing with surges of Lightning magic, but he was quaking at the knees and all wobbly-voiced the whole way home after that.
I wish him the best in finding his new home- I'm not sure if he's looking for somewhere to settle down and recover from the jolt to his nerves, or someplace he can fight to defend that just has... less freakish and terrifying monsters instead. I mean, enemy dragons, Beastclan attacks, all that sort of thing, I'm sure he'd be a great mage fighter if that's what he wants.
It's a shame to see him go. He's certainly a pleasant fellow, and very patient with those of us who didn't understand his Coatl accent as clearly as we could have. I got the feeling that he really likes kids, since he kept giving our hatchlings warm little smiles whenever they ran past. Better luck with your next destination, friend.
