Biography

NOELLE | Lieutenant of the Queensguard
Honorable ll Protective ll Dutiful

"So many vows . . . they make you swear and swear. Defend the king. Obey the king. Keep his secrets. Do his bidding. Your life for his."
-Jamie Lanister

OATH OF THE QUEENSGUARD:

The first duty of the Queensguardis to defend the queen from harm or threat. The knights are sworn to obey the queen's commands as well, to keep her secrets, counsel her when counsel was requested and keep silent when it was not, serve her pleasure and defend her name and honour. Strictly speaking, it is purely the queen's choice whether or not to extend Queensguard protection to others, even those of the royal blood. Some queens thought it right and proper to dispatch Queensguard to serve and defend their wives and children, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins of greater and lesser degree, and occasionally even their lovers and illegitimate offspring.

DEVIATION FROM PROTOCOL

Previously, female dragons were prohibited from becoming a Queensguard. Males of the Queensguard were not allowed to take a mate or produce any offspring. This was to ensure their loyalty to the queen and her alone. However, under Queen Ivy's rule, there are no such gender specific rules. In fact, both genders are welcome to join the Queensguard and are encouraged to take a mate. Furthermore, frequent breeding is highly supported within the kingdom. It is important for the Queensguard to have a heir, should they fall in battle or when defending the queen.

OTHER INFORMATION ON THE QUEENSGUARD

The idea for the Queensguard - and Kingsguard - were taken from another clan when Clan Wraetha's four founders were journeying together to find dragons and a suitable place to start building their clan. They took the general idea and changed rules and ideas, working with one another and friends to come up with suitable workings for the guards.
