An old friend of Rhea’s who shares her passion for magic, and helped her found
the Institute. The two met while they were apprentices at the Oculus of the Eleven
and bonded over their home flight and their similar magical interests. After their
schooling, and after Rhea left on her expedition to visit the Sanctums, Cepheus re-
mained at the Oculus and taught for a few years as an assistant scholar before finally
returning home to the Sundial Terrace. He and Rhea dutifully kept in touch while she
was traveling, and stayed close friends and confidants. When her travels were over
and she came back to the Sunbeam Ruins with grand ideas about founding her own
institute, Cepheus was the first to join her, and now leads alongside her as co-founder.

While Cepheus admires Rhea’s boldness and zeal, he is much more reserved,
preferring to quietly advise and assist. He can lean towards being overly cautious,
but he and Rhea make sure to balance each other out. His articulate and sincere
character is very useful in helping to keep everyone at the Institute on good terms,
and despite being more mild-mannered, he’s a respected leader.
