"Mad? Well, I suppose I'm a little mad. Nobody's perfect."
Faustus survived the destruction of his birth clan when he was just a hatchling. He was adopted into the Mirror pack that overran his home territory, which he claims was due to the fact that he'd suitably impressed them by managing to dispatch one of their raiders. It is more likely that he followed them from a distance, scavenging the scraps they left behind until he became formidable enough to gain a place among them.
His new clan eventually came into contact with the zombie witch Contagion and her followers, and she managed to convince him to come south and seek out Clan Napellus so that he could tell her where they were. The undead Mirror held a mean grudge. Faustus jumped at the opportunity to leave the Scarred Wasteland, eager for new experiences and new puzzles to pick apart.
He holds a deep fascination with biology, toxicology, necromancy, and mechanics. At any given time, he's quite likely to be creating some unholy abomination of nature and science. One day he plans on returning to the lands of his youth and becoming a warlord, but he's content to spend his days getting in fights with his rival Wulfenbach and chasing his creations around Highhaven for now.
"I have my doubts as to whether or not he recognizes the authority of our own Matriarch. Frankly, I don't think he recognizes anyone's authority but his own. Faustus has a weird... camaraderie with Wulfenbach, as the Ridgeback often lets him use the laboratory. He's the perfect mixture of Plague and Light, and he focuses his research on reanimation and the creation of new life. He and Mephistopheles have been working on something together recently."
