Oleander
The Former Consort

She searched for signs of him in the swamp, but he didn't want to be found.

If any creature were more petty and vain than Hemlock, it was Oleander. The beautiful skydancer never served as Queen, but always stood at Hemlock' favorite female, and the only one he maintained a close friendship with once he'd otherwise lost interest. They were fearsome and powerful together, even if their union was never official. Oleander shared many of his sentiments – his practicality and his aloofness, not to mention his taste in finery. Unlike Hemlock, however, Oleander was not just a fool. She was deceptive and audacious, and was mistrusted by all the clan.

Once she and Hemlock separated, Oleander turned her attention to their only child, Asphodel. Since there was no prince, it seemed that the princess would be the new heir to the clan. The royal child had different ideas, though. Asphodel chose to focus on the study of magic instead, much to Oleander's disappointment. With no royal heir to link her to the king, she started to seek other sources of power. Now, Oleander works quietly to re-establish herself, hoping if that she can win the clan's trust, she may once again find a place of privilege

Her time as consort was long over by the time Hemlock was cast out. Oleander took great steps to distance herself from him in the eyes of the others, for she feared nothing more than being cast into the swamp with him. Silently, she mourned him. The others gossip about how she can be seen wandering the edges of the clan's territory in the early mornings, looking for him. They have not been seen together since..
