Andvari was the first Living Blizzard born instead of created. He was surely an oddity beside his sister, the two siblings drawing many curious dragons their way. Because it was quite a happening that two dragons that didn't even have solid bodies had a nest together. Specially when their hatchlings didn't have solid bodies either, the wind beckoning to the hatchlings as it had to their parents.
The novelty of their birth wore off withing long and the two siblings were allowed to figure life out on their own with their parents watching them closely. Like his mother, Andvari was mildly paranoid. He carried none of his father's grief, however, and spent his days mostly on his own as he let his thoughts wander. It was clear he was a thinker and it soon became the norm to find him hiding away either with a book or simply his thoughts. |
Andvari did admit, after a while, that one of the things he thought so hard about was why he and his sister existed. Logic demanded that they shouldn't and Andvari had thought of it often, trying to find answers to blurry questions he couldn't put into words.
As soon as they were old enough to be allowed some freedom, Andvari tended to linger in the Library pouring over books and writing notes. While his sister didn't seem to care much for finding answers to things, Andvari did and he spent countless hours pestering someone into teaching him to read and write so he could do his research effectively. By the time he was considered a young adult he had filled out a number of notebooks with information and little tidbits he'd found on the theory of magic, oddities and the Living Blizzards themselves. He'd found patterns and learned all about different subspecies, trying to identify similarities and trying to drag himself to the answer as to how he existed and why. A tedious task, for sure, and one Andvari was starting to doubt he'd find the answers to in Valhall. |
|
Perhaps, he thought to himself, his answers laid beyond the walls of ice he'd come to know as home. Perhaps he had to leave if he wanted to find the answers to his questions.
Any thought to his own quest, however, was put on halt when his family tore itself apart. It'd been a genuine fear of his for quite some time already, but he'd known it would come. His mother and sister hadn't seen eye to eye practically ever and though he spent most of his time in the Library only a fool failed to notice. And when the whole mess blew up, his sister boldly declaring her hatred and intention to leave, he felt his world crumble. |
