Tumork took a careful step back, no sudden moves. She was about the same size as he was, maybe a little smaller… But, still, he was stronger. Bolder. “My name is Tumork.” He looked to his left, where Lijus stood as tall as he possibly could, tail lashing behind him. Tumork nodded to the Coatl. The Coatl had his dark red eyes on the Skydancer, a sharp, toothy grin communicating anything but good favor. “And this is Lijus.” He looked back to the Skydancer and smiled, he hoped, unthreateningly. The Skydancer seemed more confused than anything, glancing between him and Lijus as though expecting one of them to speak or move or something. Finally, she settled on him. “Nice to meet you…” she said. “I’m Zorana.” “Nice to meet you. Zorana.” Tumork looked at Lijus and, with a frown, stomped his foot as near as he could get to the Coatl’s foot without actually touching him. Nice to meet you, Zorana. The Coatl purred in strict compliance. “Don’t mind him; he’s always a little cranky,” Tumork said. Zorana nodded quietly, looking around suddenly. She’s going to flee, Lijus warned with a low growl that only Tumork could hear. You have to stop her. Without thinking why he shouldn’t want Zorana to flee, he jumped. The Lightning zapped and cracked through his feathers and wings, but he was strong. He was Plague. His claws extended, and he felt the Skydancer’s rough linen wrap against his footpads. |
Tumork was a Wildclaw. His older brother, Krova, always seemed to be the favored one. After all, their mother never gave Tumork anything. Only Lijus, their younger brother, seemed to have any time for Tumork. They’re always together, so much like twins in Tumork’s mind that they may as well be. Of course, the other dragons know a truth that Tumork can’t seem to grasp. Tumork’s mind is the only place Lijus exists. Tumork didn’t really mean to escape his prison to embark on a journey that would take him further from home than he’d ever been before. It all started with a Skydancer lost and separated from her clan. For reasons not even Tumork understands, he agreed to help her. Perhaps it was only because she pushed him beyond the boundaries of Plague territory, a place he hadn’t even known he wanted to leave until they started to go. And all this in spite of Lijus’s objections... Lijus went crazy. Tumork didn’t notice until it was too late. He tricked Tumork into making decisions that led to Zorana’s death. He tried more than once to pull Tumork off his quest to deliver Zorana’s gloves to her mate, but, that, Tumork would not abide. He convinced Tumork that there was something wrong with him. Aren’t they inseparable? Aren’t they so similar? Who is Tumork anyway? Lijus is in charge. He always has been. Stratus wasn’t difficult to find, a natural leader pulling together dragons to help him find the scattered members of his old clan and beat back an enemy that had invaded Sornieth and had no intention of leaving peacefully. Tumork was excited to join, perhaps finally find a family and something that mattered, but he had a job to do. He gave Stratus his mate’s gloves. He apologized, and he lied. He said he didn’t know who killed her. Stratus wept and thanked him. Thanked him. Tumork joined the little band, guilt nearly overwhelming him except for the poison already in his veins. |

» Lijus what’s in my head
════════════════════════
.Tumork believes the demon in his head is his twin brother. Of course, nothing could be further from the truth for the entity that’s taken up residence among Tumork’s synapses. Lijus hates everything that Tumork longs for: family, love, sympathy, and kindness. Truth be told, it would seem to an outsider that Lijus’s singular goal is to torture Tumork forever. If that’s true, there’s no way to know for sure. Lijus is too chaotic to ever give a straight answer. Nevertheless, it would be inaccurate to say every terrible thing Tumork has ever done was the fault of this creature. And that fact only makes Lijus happier. . |
» Stratus what’s in my heart
════════════════════════
.Tumork carried a pair of gloves with him out of Earth territory, and he intends to deliver them. These gloves’ past owner was the only dragon he can recall that was ever kind to him. Tumork has many days and miles of searching to decide just what he’ll say. “I’m sorry.” “It was an accident.” Of course, maybe he’ll say nothing at all. “She was already dying when I found her…” Tumork isn’t sure if he’s a good enough liar for that. He knows this Stratus he’s never met will understand; no dragon ever will. He’s finding Stratus if it kills him. And if Stratus ever figures out the truth, then it will. . |
HAUNTED - perspective
» Tumork used to be a Wildclaw. Lijus tricked him into becoming a Coatl in hopes he would be rejected for his pale colors. This hasn’t worked out as well as Lijus hoped it would. » Tumork’s taken his name from the clan he left. As time goes on, his memory of the place is sunnier than it ever was when he was there. » Even though Tumork would never own to it, he has killed more dragons than just Zorana. The names have been lost, but Lijus remembers them all.
━━ timeline ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
» March 12, 2020 - (1154 years old) Roaming around the wastelands, finds a Skydancer named Zorana and agrees to help her find her clan. Accidentally kills her.
