Lichen, who was hatched a Pearlcatcher, has new genes so is no longer Speckle and Freckle with Crackle. She understands that they are referred to as poison and toxin, but she isn't frightened. She is, after all, a dragon. She is very happy in this cool shadow area even though her birth element is Ice. She tends many of the plants in the Shadows, finding the rare species and carefully gathering seeds or shoots to propagate more of these rarities. She is especially fond of one the other dragons call 'Hen and Chicks' - she knows it is Sempervivum but she also knows the other dragons like the trick names, as opposed to the trickier to remember names.
Lichen has a bit of a temper. Mostly, she gets angry if anyone harms a rare or especially delicate plant, as succulents can be fussy to grow and tend to remain scarred instead of recovering as other plants can. She also gets upset when someone tarnishes her color, so to speak. She is triple tarnish with runes, which makes her just a little bit magical and ... err ... witchy. Ahem.
She has a bow and several arrows and knows how to use them. Her spaniel, Pennylane, likes to play fetch with the arrows.
Lecan chose his name from Lecanora muralis, a lichen that usually grows in rosettes. He also likes sounding very close to the name of his dragon.

Lichen and Ristretto had a nest of three hatchlings. Emberglo was astonished at their beauty and keeps their pictures here to admire them. Perhaps, if the weyrs are allowed to expand again, the pair can have another nest of beauties that could stay...
