LOVERS ON A WASTELAND Woven nets, escape plans. Thievery, fishing, opportunism. Such was Ayla and Mahir's life for a very long time. They both needed a partner to survive in the Wyrmwound. Their partnership was a success and both of them thrived stealing from minor clans, playing a scene of injury followed by a nighttime runaway with whatever they could take. Returning to any safe place they found, fishing for food while they enjoyed whatever money they could get from their stolen goods. Inseparable. The tiny fae rested on his head, the ridgeback soothed by the confort of her presence. They were always together and it was only natural their partnership turned them to mates. Life was good, life was exciting. Until they got caught on the act, trying to get away from a slighly bigger clan than their usual targets. Mahir's face was scarred in battle and Ayla was caged. The two were kept apart as they had to make up for their crimes. They were outnumbered, and they were criminals. What should have been a short sentence lasted way longer than expected. | xxxx |

THE CARAVAN Then Hakim, Sirabad, Hama and Amra arrived. A travelling clan. They paid for their stay and remained outside the clan, but were soon trusted enough to stay within borders. Unlike the other two, these four had good intentions and minded their own business. The little fae was tasked with healing to shorten her sentence and helped them heal their travel injuries. She told her story to Amra, and on day the caravan left, Mahir and Ayla were set free and told to never return else they would be killed. She lept and clung to his face, scarred and deformed. He had been forced to fight in Mire zones to pay off their debt. The pearlcatcher had cleared them off their charges, bailed them out. Took a bit of convincing for Ayla to talk Mahir into chasing after them to show their gratitude, at least. They had nothing to offer and yet they were welcomed, so long as they worked honest jobs now. No more stealing. And they never did it again. Surviving with a clan was very different from trying to make out on your own. They found a family in that small gathering on dragons. Having a clan gave both of them purpose. Gave them meaning. They went from rogues to calling themselves Faipur members. 
THE FATHER Mahir often acts like a father to the younger members. He loves cracking a good joke at their expense, never in a malicious way. He's just fond of dad jokes. He cares for the younglings with joy, and is often seen playing with them every now and then. The ridgeback is often seen supporting the younger members like Hakim, Sirabad and Jamila in their pursuit of chores and work. Despite not wanting children of his own, Mahir is a fatherly figure and can often be seen smoking his pipe and carefully listening to one of the youngsters blabber about their routine. He's peaceful and supportive. | xxxx |

 MAHIR Ambitious and with a bit of a temperament, Mahir is head strong and full of himself. Never the type to brag, he insteas shows his cockiness through his stubborn nature. It's very hard to see him change his mind. Ayla usually plays the mediator role as she knows how to get around his head to make him make more reasonable decisions. She couldn't change his mind about settling down the caravan at the cosmopolitan Porto. Mahir had goals and never wanted to go back to the life they had of living off scraps and thievery. In Porto, they thrived. Mahir is a skilled fisher and went as far as having huge fish ponds on their residence. Like most Ridgebacks, he would rather avoid going near water so he's a skilled sailor, flyer and net maker. He's punctual like a clock, always throwing his nets on high seas at 5am and pulling then ashore at 5pm. The net dragging is a popular event in town and most dragons will come at least once a week to help pull and get the fresh and best produce first hand at a hefty price. 
Mahir is quite happy with his new life as they grow richer everyday, but he is well aware of how unhappy Ayla is and it sometimes causes conflict between them. But he loves Ayla and tries hard to keep her spirits high. She is the best past of any life he could lead and her delight is his priority.
