Ferrilata
fortuneteller
|
|
Ferrilata, despite her friendly demeanor, is not exactly an open book. There are a save few who know that she ran away from an overbearing father and power hungry siblings, but besides them, no one knows anything. All that anyone has been able to get from her is that Argok is the one who found her, saving her from, well, something. The story changes every time, much to Impa, Thore and Fara's chagrin. When the ridgeback brought her to the clan, she was weak and ill. After nursing her back to health, like everyone else, Ausha and Dak gave her the option to stay or leave. They told her that if she were to stay, she'd have to contribute to the clan somehow since, due to it's small size, they need all capable claws on deck, so to speak. Ferrilata told the guardians that while she's not much use in battle or bringing in food, her talents could win them some treasure and gems. When asked what exactly her talents were, the skydancer smiled brightly and told them she could see the past and future. Ausha immediately said yes, excited and intrigued. Dak only shook his head at his mate and insisted that she prove it first, to which Ferrilata smoothly agreed. Needless to say, both were impressed with her reading and the rest is history. |

Ferrilata is quite content with her new clan and new job as a fortuneteller. She does most of her work at the bazaar outside of the Tangled Wood, along the roads to Dragonhome. She finds it charming, in a peculiar but pleasant sort of way, but cramped and suffocating at times. While she does get her fair share of unsavory customers, she also has a lot of regulars who gift her with materials and extra treasure and gems for her services. Ausha and Dak appreciate this. When she's not working and at the lair, she likes to take walks in the woods, letting her feet take her anywhere while her mind wanders. She misses the smells, the colors, the sounds, everything about the woods when she's trapped in her stall, working her talents and herself to the bone, so she takes it all in while she can, before she goes back. If she's particularly sad and droopy, on a rotation back home, Ausha will give her a break to lift her spirits, hoping it will do her friend some good, which it always does. She's one of the few dragons that likes going down to the lake and basking in the quiet songs and eerie glow of the waters. She often encounters Argok, along with Deis, and will sidle up next to the ridgeback and slyly ask him if he's fishing because he wants to or because he's avoiding a certain troublesome duo. ("Th-that's not important!") |

The odd little fortuneteller is well liked, often dazzling the younger members with fanciful stories and small magic tricks she learned while traveling. She's whimsical and eccentric and is loved by many, though she can be a handful. Not Thore and Impa levels of trouble, but she enjoys teasing and prodding the more serious members in her spare time. Dak has no idea how they keep ending up finding dragons like this. Though, bless the Shadow Mother, since for once, more often than not, Argok is the favorite victim, not himself. The ridgeback is conflicted about this. On the one hand, Ferrilata is one of his closest friends and he greatly enjoys her company. On the other hand, he is definitely not a fan of the skydancer’s teasing. (“Sooo, anyone caught your eye lately?” “Ferri, please.”) The only one who seems to harbor ill feelings for the fortuneteller is Nacro, though nobody is really surprised, seeing as how he kind of hates everyone. As unpleasant as he is, Ferrilata does not hate the mirror, though the two are famous for getting into heated arguments. Despite her rocky relationship with the mirror and his efforts to make her as miserable as possible, the skydancer remains happy and energetic, which baffles many. Though she kind of baffles most anyway, which is something she’s proud of for some reason. Makes life interesting, she says. Argok just rolls his eyes and calls her weird. |
