citrine is illegitimate. sandmint just kinda... had a fling with orre. sandmint in canon is actually a lot younger of a dragon, while orre is older. he feels... really awkward about having a daughter (and his other two kids from early breeding aren't canon for either parent and were exalted)
orre, however, adores her daughter. she named her after her favorite gemstone, citrine, and dressed her in a bunch of citrines she found while scavenging (and made most of that jewelry herself). she adores the idea of her daughter, but...
citrine slowly began to detest her mother, to the point she is absolutely secretly enfuriated with her. the issue is, orre is in love with the idea of her daughter, but never bothered to learn who her daughter really was -- partly because i could never figure out what citrine really wanted, and these feelings surfaced instead. cirtine wants to lash out and do something drastic -- leave the clan or get exalted. sandmint already feels awkward about her and nervous around orre, and she just... is so tired of the way her mom idealizes the way she wants her to be rather than who she is
but this would devastate orre. she doesn't know what she's doing, she loves her only daughter (it was a single egg nest) and she's her world now. she'd probably get furious at sandmint for a while, too, out of grief
but... itd make good development...?
out of character, on the one hand, citrine is very pretty, and she looks a LOT like sandmint -- brown prim/sec and blueish belly, same genes, which i find adorable. but.... because i don't know what to do with her and i've had all these feelings, i've kind of wanted to purge her. but.... she's orre's first and only kid, she was a lucky shame nest, she's been around for a while, she's really pretty.... i'd feel kind of bad for losing her too

sandmint gets a Conern because samael is intimidating
