When Persephone was born, her father's worst fears were realized: she was a Bogsneak, and had inherited his less-than-desirable looks. Erik was distraught, convinced the hatchling would endure no end of teasing and tormenting- that her life would be as his had. Christine was worried as well, though she put on a brave face and reassured Erik that times were different now and the attitude towards Bogsneaks had changed.
Christine was right, and Persephone thrived. Although she wasn't able to go out much in her first few days due to taking care of her sickly brother, once it was sure Eros would be fine she instantly ventured out and made friends with every single dragon in the clan. And the Bogsneak gene wasn't the only thing Persephone inherited from her father, it turned out- she was as musical as both of her parents, mastering song and many different musical instruments as well.
