Biography

The Worrisome Professor, Sails.
Mate-Necrosis~ Sexuality/Romantic inclination- Heterosexual/Romantic~ Pronouns-He/Him
"Have you heard about the dragon/old world insect ancestry theory? It's really very fascinating, it alludes to a possibility that we may have had distant relations with an insect that lived way back when, before the Arcanist himself lived!"
Dragonet years
Sails was born into a small, nascent clan on the Crystalspine Reaches.
A clan which, to his dismay when he matured to sentience, was only really concerned about serving the Arcanist.
As in, their jobs and daily lives seemed to circle around corroborating the Arcanist's findings as well as they could without leaving the area (They had an extensive library, but sadly, not extensive enough sometimes) and mining the spines to send to their patron and, if needed for extra income, abroad.
He really didn't want that life. From a young age, Sails was a very observant, knowledgeable Fae, who documented nearly everything he saw in his vast, powerful memory. A memory that, when coupled with such a formidable mind, made for many discoveries and discussions that annoyed his more mundane compatriots. He felt it would be a waste to spend his life as a crystal miner, and tried several times in his youth to escape the Arcanist's lands, but to no avail.
He was terrible at being stealthy, just as he was terrible at combat. Some Bogsneaks from his clan came and incapacitated him, bringing him back to the clan hive.
Since that time, he had been placed under watch, and forced into mining and fact checking. However, this only lasted a few days before a follower of the Arcanist came with a message. It was never said what was in the message, it was only for the clan leader's eyes, but as Sails was escorted from the hive by the messenger, he noted a newfound respect and simultaneous disbelief for this quiet, nervous dragon.

Bio
Since his apprenticeship under the Arcanist, and after his pilgrimage through the Starwood Strand, he has traveled to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and waited for his partner in purpose, Calypso. He had learned, 50 years ago at this point, what his true purpose in this iteration of the universe was and, honestly, he was pleasantly surprised. He had no aspirations to be a great hero of all time and space, he was happy simply being the witness and companion to the Guardian of the Sea.
He isn't mediocre or complacent by any stretch of the word, though. He chases facts and discoveries as though it were the only thing he could ever eat. Acquiring and using knowledge comes as second nature to him as breathing, and the frenetic energy in a room that he's using as a study is so thick, and palpable as to be able to be cut by a knife.
And this knowlegde that he so lovingly and painstakingly collects that is shared with anyone who cares to listen. It's why Calypso appointed him to be the Head Professor of the crew on the side while he accompanies her, for not only his patience and intelligence, but also how he really wakes up and comes alive. It's one of his only true passions, and on a teaching day, he can be seen flitting around the School Hub, reading aloud from books and actively demonstrating particle physics to rescued hatchlings and curious adults alike.
However, it's almost as if studying and teaching are his natural states of mind because, outside of this setting, it's almost as if he's a different dragon. He sheds his energetic, gregarious state and switches it for the guise of an anxious, hushed dragon, who observes on the sidelines and makes suggestion and decisions through whispers into his best friend's ear.
He's a gentle, nuturing soul, who sometimes forgets that a life outside of books and warm alcoves exists.

Job Description
Sails is the Head Professor of the crew, which, as he name implies, means that his job would consist of organizing the different professors' teaching schedules, acquiring the knowledge that they need to teach their students, and being a versatile teacher to the dragons who need it. However, he is the only one in any shape to be a professor at this moment, so it falls to him to teach any rescue dragonets that they pick up. Luckily, their crew is small, so it isn't too much effort, to teach them all. Either way, the extra work doesn't bother him, and you can see him smiling and describing worldly phenomena to wide eyed dragonets from the windows of the School Hub.

Physical Description
Rather long for a fae, and skinny. It looks like the slightest wind can knock him over. He's very deliberate and delicate in his movements. He has very long fingers and claws, and he has a very serene and pleasant face, however, his crests often twitch nervously, as if he's maintaining an inner dialogue. He wrings his hands often, as a nervous tic. He is also very nearsighted from years of reading in low light, so he wears glasses, as well as a deep blue tunic and scarf. He carries around a mage's staff made from wood in the Starwood Strand.

He also has a particular fascination for practicing magic. He isn't powerful enough to maintain some spells, but his son, Kreech, helps out with the more complex ones.
He also enjoys writing books on different fields of study, as well as publishing theories he has on the flotilla newspaper.
