Biography
Ebru - Disciplined, Calm-Minded, Calculating
"What does a guardian mean to you? An immovable wall, an unbreakable force? Heh, a guardian's job is to simply define those that are worthy of passing ." - Ebru
EBRU
GUARDIAN OF THE OBSIDIAN PORTAL
A silent war was being waged, between Ebru and a nameless wildclaw. The two dragons seemingly stood strong, for they were both in an emotionless gaze. All it would take was one move. Ebru held his fixed, stone cold glare with the wildclaw's wavering one. She was losing the battle, and she knew it. Suddenly she shook her head and screeched a challenge, claws prepared to sink into flesh. A sickening crack was the only sound that followed, and the wildclaw slumped to the ground, dead. "What a bother, you may have even left this room alive. However your pride simply had to take over didn't it?" he muttered as he turned as he dragged the corpse through the rift. Even a single glance at the world beyond would've even made Plaguebringer wince. He tossed the dead wildclaw aside, and trudged through the bones littered about. At the end of the rugged path, there was a jagged cliff. Only a black void lay beyond that. Ebru sighed and sat down at the very edge. This was is, this was his home. And it was here, that refused to let him bat an eye at death. His ears rotated toward a hoarse bird call, and a death seeker suddenly perched atop his antlers. It was informing him of another challenger, a grey spiral with shocking blue eyes. Ebru rose to his feet, and began to make his way back to the portal. "This is gonna be easy." his mind whispered to him. But his future said otherwise. Once he warped back to Sorneith, his life would change forever. Quote:
"I have guarded this portal for millennia. No one has bested me yet, and for good reason."
He has guarded the obsidian gates for as long as he can remember, turning away countless of dragons and killing countless more, just to ensure that they didn't see beyond the divide. There is nothing to look at. Nothing worthwhile, anyway, but they don't know that, so he has to stop their foolishness. You don't get many friends in this line of work. You don't need many, in fact. And it just so happens that he likes the solitude. So if you see a lone, solemn imperial perched on the edge of an abyss, silently guarding the obsidian portal of the unknown, turn back. It isn't too late. |

"There is a reason you do not touch the portal! A reason!"
That is what he calls to all those that meet his approach. It's agitating: he would have quite enjoyed his battles, those days of yonder before. Yet before is no longer now: and with every more wave of adventurers: foolish and puerile, the more he feels himself deteriorate.
He's here to defend. Yet millennia claws upon millennia and nothingness is... not unwanted.
Rest is not unwelcome.
It is easy that his eyes flutter shut. And yet they should not - he is stone, he is imperious, he is obsidian, he has a mission to prevent the foolish ones and he is—
Tired.

"Others… they say they see a killer. A ruthless one, in fact. They are afraid of you, and yet you still…’’
"I see an angel. Perhaps a darkened, fallen angel.. but still, an angel. And angels... deserve their recompense.’’
Feathers cascading into the wind, floating towards the moon. He shook his almighty wings, as the feathers fell, one after another. Every one tinted black - but stowing upon his wings were beams of gold.
This is your reward.
