Despite all the suspicious fundraising and secret research treasure funnelling, Humanologist is actually one of the best cryptozoologists around. As her name suggests, she heavily specialises on 'humans', but she has considerate knowledge of other creatures of dubious existence as well. It isn't uncommon at all to see her helping out the local paranormal hunter Ghostlight or the researcher GenV with her insight.

Naysayers and the like have gotten her down on occasion or two, so she is a bit more corrupt with her scheming and treasure-handling, but she isn't a hack either. It's a complicated world.
