Dokusei is one of the toughest dragons in the clan, he doesn't take any crap from anyone and if he has a problem he'll deal with it on his own. But he used to be a very weak dragon, so weak that he would be pushed around by his former mate, a spiral dragon that he won't name.

Dokusei used to live with his former mate in the abiding boneyard, no clan, just the two of them. It was nice and romantic when they first met and decided to be together, but it just turned back. Dokusei wanted to leave but he was too weak, his mate would have just tracked him down and dragged him back. They ended up having one egg together, and Dokusei protected the egg like it was the most important thing in the world; which it was, to him. His mate got irritated that he was paying more attention to the egg than to him and started to 'accidentally' bump or drop the egg. As the egg got closer to hatching Dokusei realized more and more that he did not want the first thing the dracling to see to be this unkempt little cave with a sad wildclaw and an angry spiral in it.

One night Dokusei wrapped up the egg and ran off into the nearby shadow territory while his mate was sleeping. He cushioned the egg with all of the best pelts and furs he could find and put a note on it that read 'To whoever finds this, please take good care of my child, they mean the world to me' he made sure to not leave any mark or note of where the egg came from or who it belonged to, so no one would try to return it, or so the spiral wouldn't come looking for it. He hid it as deep into the territory as he could go in one night before putting it somewhere that hopefully the predators wouldn't get to it.

In the morning the egg was gone from the cave, of course. Dokusei said a predator must have taken it while they were sleeping, his mate said he should have protected it more, but he didn't really seem to care. Everything seemed to return to normal then.

Until Dokusei was tired of this being normal, he was sick of being pushed around and told that he wasn't good enough. He started training behind his mate's back, eating more of the food and leaving the worse bits for him. He hunted more and fought more, but kept up a facade that he was still weak. One day he confronted his mate and started to fight him, but he was still too weak. His mate beat him and told him to stop being a fool, he left back to the den and left him there hurt next to the lake.

Dokusei, feeling less confident and more defeated then ever, stayed next to the lake with his eyes closed for a long time. But he felt like something was staring at him, and when he looked out he saw a large skeletal face looking at him from the lake. He himself grew up as a weak little hatchling fending for himself, adopted into a small clan who only cared about surviving, so he had no idea about dieties or who he was looking at, but he could tell they were something special. The large dragon rose up out of the lake and asked him what he was doing. He explained his situation, the dragon didn't seem to have much a reaction past narrowing the eyes. The dragon made him an offer, she would give him immeasurable power, if he gave her his eyes. Dokusei agreed after not much thought and everything went black.

When he woke up he couldn't remember anything at first, but he couldnt see anything either. There was a covering over his face, but when he took it off he still couldn't see. He remembered that big dragon, and the deal he had made, and he realized he didn't hurt anymore. Trying to remember where he was, he ran back to the den. It took him longer than it should have but he made it back. He found his mate inside, sleeping. Dokusei proceeded to beat him near death and send him running.

Dokusei never saw him again, they were on their own now but they were okay with that. However he wasn't okay with how hard it was to hunt now, so he started looking for help, as much as it hurt his pride to do so. He eventually ran into a dragon (literally) who he was very hostile towards until he realized that it wouldn't hurt him, a large rather regal sounding imperial. The imperial led him back to its clan and gave him some food and water. The clan leader agreed to let him stay so he did. He said he'd only stay until he learned how to live like this, but he actually learned a long time ago.
