The dragon faces you, her chin held high in an aloof manner. Scars decorate her hide, memories from a time before she joined this clan. "Why do you hunt, if you dislike it so?" you ask her. She shrugs, her gaze not quite meeting yours. "It's what I'm best at." Her voice is unexpectedly harsh for an Ice dragon, like glass crushed underfoot.


Ilsabeth's home, first, foremost, and finally, is Clan Reocailura. She refuses to say anything of her time in the Southern Icefields, though many rumors abound about where she came from and the dark scars that crosshatch her hide. She refuses to wear any apparel that represents the Southern Icefield or the Icewarden.

Ilsabeth followed Vulcan when he returned home from a hunting trip in the Frigid Floes region of the Southern Icefield. For the longest time, she refused to disclose her identity to anyone, hovering warily on the edge of clan territory. As time passed, however, she began to accompany Geneva and Vulcan when they went on trips to gather food, always staying within eyesight but far enough away as to discourage conversation. Eventually, she stepped up to head the clan's gathering teams, and shows particular skill with hunting and fishing.

Speaking little, Ilsabeth prefers to express herself through actions instead of words. Underneath her cold and sometimes harsh demeanor is a young soul afraid of caring too deeply.
During her time in the clan, she has matured into a powerful huntress and fiercely independent dragoness. Despite her emotional growth, Ilsabeth prefers to keep her features hidden deep within a hood at all times. The only time she takes off her cowl is when on vacation in Fire lands with Valens.

Despite Ilsabeth's initial misgivings, Valens' unwavering affection won her over. Though the other Imperial labored under the misconception that she was searching for someone to match her physically, Ilsabeth was in truth needing a partner who accepted her without question. Their introverted natures mesh perfectly, and no two dragons in the clan are more capable of communicating silently.

Ilsabeth's original familiar, a Venerable Shalebuck was rescued from Pinkerton's Pile in the early days of the clan. Sensing a kindred injured soul, she asked Vulcan if she could take over care for the Shalebuck. Truth be told, Vulcan was just relieved to get it out of his library, where it had been wrecking havoc among the study desks. The two of them now spend their afternoons sitting in companionable silence in the shade of the castle. Once the Shalebck was fully recovered, Ilsabeth decided to give him into the care of Rosie, who was feeling lonely.
The Shalebuck has long since passed away, and Ilsabeth paired with a familiar better suited to her active lifestyle - a hippogriff. She now works in tandem with a small combined flock of hippogriffs and Clouddancers, raised from the egg to hunt.

Ilsabeth happily gave her PolarFreeze Defender to Korra after seeing how the two were destined to be together. Besides, she rather prefers companions that can fly with her, though she'll also be keeping an eye out for the Nocturne's tricks next December.
