History
Hephaestus was born to a clan of crafters, deep in the Ashfall Waste. It was widely known throughout Sornieth as the place to go to really hone your craftsmanship with wood, metal, or stone. The most famous of their members was Volundr, a prodigy. Long before Hephaestus was born Volundr left the clan and effectively disappeared from the world, but he was still spoken of with reverence and awe. Hephaestus grew up idolizing him. When he was finally of age, he left the clan himself to seek out the recently found Volundr to beg for an apprenticeship. After getting wildly lost on his journey, he met and fell in love with Zora. After several months, they married. She helped make sure they actually made it to the Ventum Lucet Inn, where the rumors about Volundr all led.
