 Akoúo was born with stories in her heart. Since the day she could spell, she wrote down exquisitely detailed tales, and even before she discovered words, she drew practically every moment. Over the years, her passion for creating has never dulled, only became more refined. Her lair is full to bursting with dozens of paintings and stacks of loose parchment, along with more books than Juliette would like. Though mostly a loner, Akoúo has formed a friendship with Alexina, a bubbly Skydancer who immediately attached herself to Akoúo after the guardian joined the clan. She seems to have forged a rather younger-sister relationship with Xina, and they can frequently be seen together, Xina chattering on about some clan she visited, and Akoúo hmm-ing and uh-huh-ing along as she flips through a book. It was after one such chat, when Akoúo was going to return the tome she had...borrowed from the library, when she spotted him. Or it? It appeared like a shadow, but without anything casting it, a strange wisp of darkness. Akoúo's yellow eyes struggled to fully distinguish the form from the shelf behind it. She focused as best as she could and studied it for a second, attempting to find where the creature ended and the actual shadow began. Its head snapped around suddenly, eyes flicking around the room before settling on hers. Akoúo shivered at the color of his eyes: Shadow, the domain of tricksters and the unknown. But no, that wasn't what she found so perturbing. No, it was the emotion in those hollow eyes, the deep, profound loneliness. Their eyes met for less than a second before he—she was certain it was a he now—stiffened and bounded away, swiftly enough that even Akoúo's Light eyes lost track of his undefined figure. She had always managed to convince herself that she would never have a Charge. An antiquated term, for outdated dragons, she thought. She had never felt the pull of the Search, only "the pull to the library", as she liked to quip. She always said it jokingly, but now she realized just how literally she meant it; she was drawn to the library not because of her love of stories, as she had always thought, but because that's where her Charge was. Since that afternoon, Akoúo has spent every spare hour at the library, under the pretense of research for her numerous unfinished novels. She is researching, but for information about shadow dragons: curses, spells, potions, scrolls, anything, anything that might help her solve this puzzle of a dragon. He has become her hobby, a treasure hunt for the dragon that cannot exist.
