Personality
Jim is a brilliant and cunning dragon who likes to multitask so that he’s always busy. Amongst most dragons, Jim is very charming, handsome, and oozing with confidence. He’s a gentleman, a talented purifier, and he enjoys being the center of attention. He can be an absolute gem at a party. However, Jim also believes that draconic progression is only possible after creating conflict through chaos, destruction, and immoral actions. Through conflict, the individual dragon will grow stronger as they are forced to addresses their current weaknesses. Through peace, a dragon stagnates. There was a period of his life where he felt that this should reflect both externally and internally. He sought to ensure that he was in a constant state of conflict, placing himself in a relationship that resulted in physical and emotional distress. Now, Jim has had time to rethink this philosophy and recognize the dangers of taking it to that extreme. He rationalizes that having internal peace is fine so long as the external pain is faced with a family. He's...allowing himself to be happy and to enjoy having dragons in his life that he can admit to loving. Within this private sphere, Jim drops his glamours face and becomes the real Jim inside: tired, filled with sharp wit and sarcasm, and blunt. He also prides in his physical appearance, often taking over an hour to style his hair, put on his make up, and put on his clothes that have already been picked out the night prior. He's very tidy with how he has everything situated; there is no disorganized order as Jim prefers a minimalist look to all their counters. He really does not like clutter, or frankly anything dirty. Likewise, he does not like having his partner or children looking like dirty scavengers. No tolerance. He doesn't care if Lurk is twice his age and a few feet taller than him, he will sit on the edge of the bed and let Jim brush his hair, he swears to the Lightweaver, he will smack him with the brush if he so much as moves.
Early Years
Jim was the third child ‘adopted’ by Carmine, Starling, and Deckard, when they had started to form their War Clan, the VIPERADEN. His upbringing was not good. He suffered from mental, physical, and emotional abuse as well as neglect. Most of his ideologies about conflict originate from Carmine. His older brothers, Siren and Pippin, often were responsible for taking care of him (and his other siblings) when the founders weren’t looking (or when they were visibly apathetic). Once he was old enough, he began his job as the clan’s financial manager and sought out investors as well as establishing a drug trade while studying to become a shade purifier. Through his hard work and dedication, Jim would make his clan very rich, providing them adequate resources to expand their warmongering plans. He did almost die after a toxic relationship escalated. However, while he ended up in emergency care, her body ended up washed up by a riverside. He isn’t sure who killed her, but he mourned for her and the conflict that she had brought. To fill that void, he started to look for a new toy to play with and ended up with more than he bargained for.
Triva
He loves power struggles, even at the cost of someone else’s life or even at the threat of his own. He has little empathy towards other dragons that are not close to him. He has no moral confliction about murder and torture as he takes clear pleasure from being in control. However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t derive pleasure from not having any control either.
Triva
Jim has created more scars on his partner Lurk, despite being smaller, weaker, and with more vulnerable moments for Lurk to take advantage of. That is not to say he’s walked away completely unscathed. There are a couple stab wounds and cuts on his body that are curtesy of Lurk. Though for some of them, Jim willfully let him cut him.
Triva
Originally, Tesla was going to grow up under his care, but after a small incident with Lurk’s pearl, she ended up living with Carmine. To make up for this, Carmine had him go to the Windswept Plateau to pick up his new charge. He didn’t realize however, that his charge was still an unhatched egg. When Tacitus did hatch, Jim was out of the room and so Tacitus imprinted on Lurk instead. Interestingly, when Magna hatched, Jim was the one whom he had first seen.
Triva
Jim has invested a lot into Lurk. Initially, it was to recreate the toxic relationship he had before with Carly, however over time and routine, their partnership developed into something less...unhealthy. Jim started to view Lurk less as a blatant eye-sore of pure frustration and more as someone he could act himself and talk with. He admires Lurk’s bloodlust and supports his partner’s interest in murder. He genuinely values and loves Lurk, which are both terrifying concepts to him. Sometimes, he worries that he’s softened quite a bit, but he feels more reassured when he can join his partner in torture sessions. Also, at the start of their...relationship, Jim used to heavily flirt with Lurk because it made him uncomfortable and visibly irritated. Now, however, Jim cannot flirt with Lurk without going red in the face. It’s one thing when it’s a power struggle, it’s another thing with genuine affection. He really can’t handle it.
Job Description
He has multiple jobs. For the financial one, he handles the accounts and makes sure no one goes below the amount that they have in the account. He also makes sure that his siblings have investors interested in their work or their research. For example, Jim is responsible for finding buyers interested in the treasure Jesse uncovers just as he is responsible for finding sponsors interested in shade research for Valera. As for the warmongering, he often has to go to meetings with big corporations to talk with CEOs and either persuade them with great incentives or through other coercive tactics. On top of that, Jim also oversees the drug trade of Tree Frogs - a hallucinogenic drug made by the poison of tree frogs. He makes sure that there is enough supply, that dragons within the operation get their proper wages, and calculates the costs and gains from the entire process. Lastly, he also is a shade purifier, which does not earn any money. It is purely an interest of his to learn about all types of shade as well as how to exorcise them. He is among the top of his sect, however has made some minor mistakes that have lead to painful consequences.

Gene: Iridescent/Facet/Spines. His name is Jim because it sounds like Gem. I love him, he’s beautiful, and one of my favorite dragons to RP. Recently, he lost the the lower half of his tail thanks to Starling.

- He has a cut on his cheek that he got from Lurk early in their relationship. They had been sparring and, one thing lead to another, Lurk stabbed Jim's face with a letter opener. The plus side, Jim seared his hands into Lurk's only arm and left second degree burn scars (Wouldn't be the first time, though).
- Lurk has also cut into Jim's chest, starting from his upper left to the right almost under his arm pit. However, it wasn't too deep and it was with Jim's consent because he's weird.
- Jim has had the lower half of his tail ripped off by Starling as a punishment for keeping Magna secret from Carmine for so long.
- Jim had shade scarring on his shoulders (which look like dots) and a slash stained black from when the sentient shade had attacked him.
- Recently, Jim was a victim of a kidnapping. He suffered lacerations to his right arm and chest, his right hand was nearly destroyed with a hammer, he was stabbed in the liver, he was slashed over the left eye, and had his right ear cut off.
- Just like the old scars on his leg, Jim will cover up the kidnapping lacerations (minus the face one) with tattoos. He's incredibly saddened that the chest tattoo covers up Lurk's mark, as he calls it, however it doesn't really matter now since the other lacerations also cover up Lurk's work.
