Ryuu

Name meaning: Depending on the Japanese kanji used, the name Ryuu can mean "dragon" (竜 or 龍), "dragon spirit", or "imperial". Conversely, the kanji for this Ryuu (立) means "to stand" and is not read as "ryuu" at all.

Ryuu came from the Great Furnace of the Ashfall Waste and did quite a bit of wandering from place to place before she found her home in the Zephyr Steppes. The journey wasn't an easy one, as she tended to find herself in several tricky situations where her instinctive mimicry made her easy to manipulate. If she was on her own for too long and let herself really think about it, it was kind of discouraging. So, rather than let herself think about it, she constantly sought companionship with others (even just temporarily).

It was with her adoptive clan where she really started to discover herself, especially with the help of a Ridgeback (Io) that Ryuu found herself drawn to. His protectiveness of her was annoying at first, but she eventually realized that Io wasn't babying her... It's just that he doesn't trust anyone else. So, she began to appreciate it, although getting her to admit that out loud to anyone would not be easy.
