The Matriarch of this clan, She surveys her clan-mates with benevolent eyes. Margaux is protective of her mate; and She guards him from any and all who might wish to take him from her. She has had many hatchlings who have left the nest to find nests and mates of their own. She is a fierce protector of the dragons in her clan, and if they do not fit into the clan, She sacrifices them to the Shadowbinder without mercy.
She was born into a different clan of Shadow dragons, but left them to search out her own clan and mate. She met her mate while he was dancing in the wind, twirling within the air currents. She was entranced with his dance, and started to court him. They paired up, and became the Alpha pair of dragons of their own clan. They settled in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent, and have worked hard to make their lair a place where dragons from all walks of life could come to settle, if they fit into the clan. She has lost her mate twice now. Her first mate was lost to a inter-clan war, and her second mate fell ill with a fatal illness, succumbing to it as She tended to him in his final moments. She has now met another male, and has selected him to be Her mate, though leadership of the Clan falls only on Her shoulders. Margaux has faced pain and sadness, and She has faced it with composure and understanding. |

Your claws tremble as you unroll the scroll that was delivered by a small winged fox.
Hello dear heart. Margaux here, and as promised here is my letter. Your clan-mates survived the trip home, though they did look a little green as they departed from the ship (I thought you Water dragons liked travelling via water?) and they looked very pleased to be joining the groups of volunteers camping out in the Forum.
I observed them as they settled in and got to know their fellow volunteers. Those of us who were granted the honour of collecting the volunteers were all nearby and watching as the sun set. The volunteers seemed a little weirded out by the Woods night-time noises, but we all assured them that they were normally just small creatures this deep into the Woods. I do feel that they slept a little better after hearing that.
After a day of orientation and learning the basic things needed to survive here, we let them loose to explore to their hearts content. You’ll be glad to know that your clan mates managed to stumble into the nesting grounds of a beast clan not 5 minutes after we let them go. The silly dears did scream so loudly that they woke up the poor babies and the mothers appeared and were not happy. It took a little while to calm them, and it turned out that your silly ones didn’t pay attention to the friendly beast clan guide we gave them. Ah well, live and learn.
The most funny thing happened later that very same day, the beast clan that they managed to rile up came and asked them to a celebration they were having that night. I encouraged them to go and I’m now waiting for them to be brought back by the clan members………..

The same winged fox drops off another scroll. You unroll it and begin to read.
Hello again! Margaux here, and I am so sorry about the abrupt end to my last letter. I successfully found your missing clan mates, and I was very surprised at the mess they’d managed to get themselves into.
They managed to wander off from the celebrations very sneakily for non-Shadow dragons, and they as a group decided to go wandering around the Woods at night!! I’m still somewhat flabbergasted at how utterly stupid they were to do so, especially after the myriad warnings they were given by both myself and the beast clan members.
When I FINALLY found them, they were shivering in a clump of tangled bodies, and circling them was a Disoriented Spirit. Luckily for them, I have experience wrangling familiars, and this one was holding a message scroll. The spirit was happy to hand me the scroll when I told it I would find the recipient of it. The spirit glided off and your clan mates scurried over to hide behind me. It was quite the amusing sight to see all those big, strong dragons hiding behind my tiny body!
They have finally learnt their lesson I now believe, and the rest of their time in the camp was pleasant. They have finally completed their journey to serve Our ShadowMum, and I believe they are very happy.
