Lying, cheating, fighting... that's what I'm good at. The name's Cash, and I run with whatever clan or caravan is most convenient for me. I work most gigs as security, but I'm not against some heavy lifting; I've been known to pull a wagon or two. It's all in a day's work, and as long as I'm getting paid I'm not complaining. I've never been a popular guy. Most folks say it's my personality... the rest tell me it's the attitude. I suppose I don't much care, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if my next stop had some friendly faces. It'd be nice to have someone to chat with once in a while. Don't tell anyone I said that, though. Some of us have images to keep. |

The Orderly
Cash (or as the clan has taken to calling him, Bog-Cash) came to Clan AXQU rather unexpectedly. He'd been out of work for quite some time, and while he'd always been able to defend himself, he was having a hard time finding food and potable water in the harsh desert of the Shifting Expanse. There, he met the clan's head forager, also named Cash. Bog-Cash asked him about work,
and Guard-Cash mentioned that there might be an opening in Clan AXQU.
The bogsneak had never been a medical assistant before. At first, his job was mostly heavy lifting for the clan's medic, but she saw in him a brighter mind than he liked to show on the surface. Millie trained him to do basic procedures, and while his bedside manner left much to be desired, he loved the intellectual stimulation of being able to learn.
He largely kept to himself over the weeks, as bogsneaks were wont to do, but he found himself gravitating toward the dragon that'd brought him here. At first, the guardian didn't say anything; he too seemed to prefer the silence. As the weeks turned into months, though, Guard-Cash started to open up more and more, and Bogcash found himself doing the same. The two grizzled old dragons had a lot more in common than they originally thought. They became close friends, then lovers,
then finally mates.
When the two of them found a mostly dead pearlcatcher hatchling on one of their walks, it seemed fate had finally shown Bog-Cash where it wanted him. The two of them adopted their son, Change,
shortly after he stabilized, and Bog-Cash is excited to see the kind of man young Change will grow up to be. Bog-Cash misses his nomadic life sometimes... but a steady job, a loving husband, and a wonderful smart son? Not a bad gig. After so long wandering, Bog-Cash has something in Clan AXQU he never thought he'd ever have: a forever home.
