Mori -- The Storyteller "..." ○ enthusiastic | dynamic | well-directed○ • overbearing | critical | smug • ☀♈ [Earth Ambassador] [True Neutral]☾♐ |
Mori may seem like your typical, encyclopedic Earth-hailing snapper, though beneath her rugged surface is a core filled with curiousity and tales of past adventures. Most insist that her stories are but hatchling tales, but Mori begs to differ. Not once in her lifetime has someone found her to get caught up in what may be her tall tales, though the content of the stories seems to be what really throws people off. So, what has an old dragon such as herself lived to see? "My, my. Many a wonder out there. Nothing's too late for a young dragon like yourself to witness, yes?" Regardless of the age of the dragon she's speaking with she will always say that quote. Many of the clan's older members are flattered by this, though Mori shows no signs of doubt in her expression while telling others this. Donec lacus augue, cursus a tincidunt ac, ultrices id felis. "Hoo hoo hoo! I see we have collected quite the audience now!" The snapper sits up straight, folding her wings behind her.
"What's that, youngin'? I resemble one of your own clanmates? Hoo hoo! She must be quite the looker, then!" Mori smiled at the tundra, but it dropped a bit as a little bit of sadness clouded her eyes.
"Say, your attitude reminds me much of my sweet little granddaughter's. Always askin' questions, eager for answers, I swear she had heard just about all of my stories more than three times!"
She sighs as she reminisces about the thought, but for a second you see her gaze turn cold before she turns to the other dragon who recently greeted her.
"Well, howdy, Brad! Pleasure to meet ya'! I hope you're ready to listen to a great tale of triumph and adventure, because that's what these fella's wanna hear!" Mori holds her head high before speaking again.
"So, picture this, I was a bit younger than I am now, well, perhaps I was much younger, but not quite as young as you all, hoo hoo!" The snapper furrows her brow a bit, as if trying to remember when exactly this event took place.
"Say, this wasn't my first time travelling through the Scarred Wasteland. I had actually passed through the area many times b'fore, so you can imagine that I felt pretty invincible to the terrors that reside there."
"I always thought Emperors were just a big ol' hatchling's tale, made up to keep young dragons from wanderin' out at night on their own. I had plenty o'skill in combat, since I used to be the leader of a group of bandits in Dragonhome. But this time, I was all by m'self, passin' through some ancient graveyard. I was hopin' I would find some ol' treasures worth riches, and normally if I was grave robbin' I would have had t'churn the earth with these big claws of mine," Mori holds up a paw and flexes her massive, blunt claws as a gesture.
"I thought I was lucky, a heap of bodies was just layin' out in the open. So at least one o'them had to have somethin' good on em', right? So there I was, all by my lonesome in this graveyard approachin' these bodies without a sliver of fear in my heart,"
Mori pauses for effect.
"N'then they started movin'! I didn't know what to think, I thought maybe somethin' nasty was tryin' to eat at em' or somethin', but the bodies started makin' these strange noises and began to rise up, and that was when I realized I darn screwed up."
"Was I scared? A lil' bit at first, but after gettin' out of the thing's way I realized that it wasn't actually as powerful as it appeared... the thing was clumsy as hell, tryin' to navigate with all those heads n' limbs. There was mouths everywhere, snappin' and swingin', but not even an Emperor's bite is enough to pierce this hide o'mine!" Mori curled her paw into a fist and tapped her hide with it.
"So, you're probably wonderin' what the hell I did then, right? The approach was fairly simple, if you've ever been to the Scarred Wasteland, the land there is truly scarred. Any attempt to grow a thing in that rotten soil of their's would be futile. That bein' so, usin' some earth magic was enough to tear the ground out beneath the behemoth."
"But here's the really bad part, I thought I could finish the beast off with a fossilize, and as pillars of rock shot out from the earth n' impaled it, it's heads screeched in a horrifying harmony of agony! The sound haunt my ears to this day, it does. But the worst thing is, it still wouldn't die! It's tangled body writhed around, still throwin' bites at me n' such. I was afraid that if it kept strugglin' in the way it was, it would come free of those rocks. So I had to do what I had to do..."
Mori pauses for effect once more.
"I bit its heads off with these very chompers. It took hours, rippin' those nasty throats out one by one until the screamin' finally ceased, and that right there was what almost killed me."
"All that rotten poison blood, I about chucked up mosta' my body weight, so I suppose that was the time I had been the thinnest I ever was, hoo hoo!"
Oddly enough, recalling the what should be seen as traumatic experience doesn't seem to phase the snapper whatsoever.
"So there I was, dyin' in the place o'death, thinkin' that it wasn't such a bad way to go, when from the corners of my vision I saw the last thing I wanted to ever see...another imperial!"
"It was about that time I had already passed out, figured I was as good as dead, but when I woke up I was in some sorta under ground office of sorts! The imperial told me how he had found me, and that I was gonna be alright, but what surprised me is that he was a plague dragon himself!" She chuckled.
"Imagine that, a plague imperial nursin' lil' ol' me back to health after an encounter with an emperor in the Scarred Wastelands. He was a young handsome doctor, all by his lonesome in his little cave. I stayed with him for a few days n' then I invited him to come back to my clan with me." She sighed a bit before talking again.
"He found another lover at the old clan, but I was okay with that. He was much too young for me anyways, hoo hoo! I have had my fair share of mates, after all."
"The strangest thing though--after he moved into the clan, he started workin' on some project by himself. He got more n' more distant, and eventually he disappeared! He came back after a long time, lookin' much older than he should be, and even more distant from everyone. I don't really bother him anymore... I think he has his own issues to deal with." She shrugged as she concluded her story.
