"Isn't it strange how everything flows?" Many rivers flow throughout the world: rivers that we see, and rivers that we feel. There were the rivers of water which sustained all life, and the rivers of life that crisscrossed occasionally before flowing out to the wide, crystalline sea. Though not many dragons can hear it, a certain melody always companies the flowing, whether it be the flowing of speech or of this we can neither see nor hear nor feel. This melody, intangibly beautiful and impossible sweet, is the melody of Benzaiten. It is for enjoyment and beautiful things she sings, and it is also because of the sorrows of life that her songs are created. Her songs are unworldly; unmatched by anything and everything mortals, normal dragons, can ever do. No matter what piece of music it is, composed by her or another, Benzaiten stands on an unparalleled platform of performance. Her songs teach, her songs please. Her songs heal, her songs put to sleep. The power of her voice is so intoxicating that she can, on some levels, control others with it, though someone as serene as Benzaiten would never do such a thing. It is unknown where and when exactly did Benzaiten appear. Some say it is Sobek who found her while swimming and playing with the course of the water. Some say she rose out of the river reclined on a giant maple leaf. Still others say she was created by the lamenting spirits of a nearby graveyard, brought to life by their desire to hear something beautiful. Benzaiten seems merely amused by those rumors, and reply only with an unchangeable soft smile, and then a quiet, lulling song. Benzaiten gets along fairly well with the other members of her clan. Though outgoing doesn't exactly define her, she is easy to talk to and she's a great listener. Benzaiten retains a serene composure within the clan and radiates a soothing feeling of friendliness that others can't help but be thankful for. Benzaiten can most often be found near a river, or the graveyard which so many rumors say she rose from. There, she can be heard singing, though her form remains unseen. Sometimes she sings songs as tinkling as a running stream, and sometimes songs lulling like a summer breeze. Other times her voice is a haunting cry, unresigned; a song for the dead, and for the living that stayed behind to say goodbye.
