Biography
You approach a secluded mossy cliffside, and welcome the fresh ocean breeze. As you look for a comfy place to settle in for a nap, you notice a small statuette nestled into the ground. 'It must've sunk into the soft ground, from years of sitting on this misty cliffside,' you think to yourself, gently lifting it from the dirt, and setting it upright, carefully dusting it off. As you sit back to admire your good deed, the breeze picks up, swirling around the hillside, until it pulls you gently towards a rising lump on the hillside. The moss and clover swirls in place to form a wispy, translucent spirit. The tundra bows her masked head in your direction, "Bless you, child, for respecting my resting place." As she does so, the hillside is suddenly abloom with hundreds of tiny flowers, and you are overcome with beauty and sadness. You bow your respects, and silently enjoy the pretty display before taking that well-deserved nap, knowing you are safe here. |

"Where did Skippingstone come from?" Oceanwing asked softly. "She hardly talks about her parents..." "It is a long story, child, and I no longer hold the power to stay tangible for such a lengthy tale," she sighs softly, a tiredness weighing on every word, "But I will do my best to summarize." "It all started when I met him..." The beast was power-hungry- no one could deny that- but I was young and foolish. I thought I could change him, and I was willing to give him everything if it meant I could protect the people around me. I see now that it was a foolish sacrifice, but it wasn't completely for naught. The relationship itself was terribly one-sided, and full of manipulation and guilt, but the children I bore were never to blame. In the end, I was able to hatch a beautiful pair: my son Indigopaw, who was drawn to Flamecaller's fiery passion, and away from his father's wrath; and a beautiful daughter, who I blessed with my magic in order to hide her away from Slick. She was hesitant to leave me behind, but I knew she'd be in danger if she remained, and I wanted her to find her own life. I'm glad she's found you, Oceanwing. Please, keep my daughter safe... |
