Backstory
"When I saw the stars, I knew they were my destiny."
1779.png
Supernova
The first thing Goldenshore saw as she broke out from her eggshell was the endless array of glittering stars, set like polished gemstones amidst the pure, black night sky. She had stared at the twinkling globules of light, overcome with wonder at nature's beauty, and from then on, although she did not realise it, her fate had been set.

"Mommy, what's this?" she asked one day, pointing to a stone with a strange glowing symbol on it that throbbed and pulsed with a pinkish light. The older Fae turned, blinking, to take a closer look at the object her young daughter had pointed out. Soon, the Clan Leader's fuchsia eyes widened, and she touched a claw to the smooth engraved surface of the stone.

"Goldenshore, this is an Arcane Runestone. It's an ancient and treasured find! Well done, my beautiful daughter." Starfall praised, her voice still carrying the wonder at finding the runestone. Beaming with joy, Goldenshore smiled back at her mother.

Another time, she stumbled upon her mother in the Leader's Den, runes burning into her rose-pink scales, spheres of inscriptions floating around her as spells rolled off forbidden tongues in archaic language. Goldenshore's eyes were snapped open, and her jaw hung agape, as she witnessed her mother practising Arcane magic.

From then on, the young hatchling was hooked on the same art that her mother excelled in, sneaking away to practice every day. She was afraid of being found out by her mother, but yet she found herself drawn to the art, her curiosity overwhelming all fear.

Then one day, she was found out. She had been relaxed that day, her guard let down. The white, fluffy clouds had been floating innocuously in the azure sky, as usual. Brilliant rays of sun had shone down, reflected against the smooth sheen of the Crystalspine Reaches. Carelessly, she had flung a Mana Bolt into the air, where it arced through in a graceful line, before dissipating a cloud.

Giddy with exhilaration, she fired yet another Mana Bolt, and another, laughter slipping from her mouth gaily, magenta eyes wide with euphoria, until suddenly she heard familiar wingbeats. Horrified, she raced away, only to find her movements completely halted. Her heart sank. Tears pricked at her eyelids as she squeezed her eyes shut in dread, every single part of her longing to break free from her mother's psychic hold and flee far, far away into the distance.

"Goldenshore, why didn't you tell me earlier?" Consternation overcame the distraught Fae, as she trembled even in her mother's telekinetic grasp. Her mother's voice was cracking, cracking with emotion, Goldenshore was so overwhelmed she couldn't even tell what.

Then Starfall asked a question, voice filled with willingness, with love for her daughter, with hope, even.

"Do you want to be a mage?"

Enlightenment
Thus Goldenshore continued down on the path towards becoming a full-fledged mage. The skills she had developed on her own, through pure talent and practice, were not enough, and she had much to learn from her more experienced mother, who patiently taught her everything she knew herself. Then Goldenshore, still not satisfied with the skills she had gained, went on a pursuit of all things magical, searching and studying all that she could gather, and till this very day, she studiously pores over stacks of thick tomes, absorbing every single bit of knowledge she can find.

Current Status
The Arcane Rep of the Clan, Goldenshore takes great pride in her work, and the rest of the Clan carry equal confidence in her expertise. She is their link to the Arcanist, supreme deity of their Clan, along with a Pearlcatcher equally interested in Arcane arts.

Her familiar, nicknamed 'Brightwing', 'Rainbow' or simply 'Woof', the rambunctious Brightwing Dwarf Hainu famed in the clan for its energy, is often whizzing around the clan in a messy blur of multicoloured feathers and fur, its signature yap being the only warning before this furball of energy and destruction crashes into the area. Thankfully, no major catastrophe has happened yet, but...

Being both the mother that created her and the mentor who polished her to a dazzling shine, Starfall is undeniably the closest to this talented Fae. Often seen together reinforcing the magical shields that protect the clan, or huddled together in the library consulting tome after dusty tome, they share a mother-daughter bond not easily broken.

The joker of the family, Tundra takes it upon himself to brighten the mood. After all, that always happens when your other two family members are serious Arcane scholars, right? Goldenshore is the devil’s advocate to Tundra’s playful banter, but the night always ends in lots of eyerolls and a good laugh.

When they were both hatchlings, Goldenshore found Cherryfrost by the shore, shaken by another vivid dream. Touched by sympathy, the golden Fae offered to bring the young Pearlcatcher to Starfall, in the hopes that Starfall would teach him how to deal with his visions. They have been inseparable since.
