""Home…” Cahrid sighs longingly at your question, their shimmering wingtips tracing small circles in the freshly fallen snow. The fog of their breath clings around their nose before drifting into the air and away into the night, their bright eyes following the smoke and snowflakes but clearly seeing something far, far away. “Home is… complicated. There are lots of things you can call ‘home’, and be right… but I don’t know if I have any of them anymore. Not just yet.”"

Cahrid was born in the icy mountain ranges, watched over and doted upon by a court of nobles and servants alike. She was a precocious child, smart but quiet and shy, and her appointed guardian Bermuda took every opportunity to feed her curiosity about the world with fantastical books and stories of far-off places. She was the people’s beloved princess… which only made the rebels hunting her more vicious when her kingdom was attacked, her parents killed, and she and Bermuda were sent on the run.

After arriving for refuge in the clan to get their wounds treated, Cahrid no longer had the strength to fly. The ability simply seemed to have left them even after the scars on their wounds healed, and they spend most of their time these days sitting quietly reading books about the far-off places they still never visited, and talking quietly with the librarian Mouric as they pick up their next volume. Their sheltered life means they have very little experience with new things, and they’re incredibly slow to trust new people after their families betrayal.
