"Why, hello, hello! Come to see my newest alchemic achievement? Over here! You'll find that I've... oh, oh dear. Um, come back later, please? I, uh, have to attend to something."
A jubilant and delightfully eccentric Imperial dragon, who hails from the Hewn City. From birth, Jin had known nothing but the ominous, skeletal darkness of the mysterious City, and despite being born within the Lightweaver's domain, the young dragon had never known her shining embrace. As she grew older, Jin began to hear more and more stories from her fellow clanmates of the regions that lie outside her home; stories of enormous clay sundials, bathed in the bright glow of day; stories of expansive, beautiful, ancient architecture, and of a giant watchtower where the Lightweaver herself was rumored to dwell. By the time that she was an adolescent, Jin's curiosity to see the world outside of the Hewn City proved to be too strong for her to contain, and, leaving a note for her family, she sneaked away into the darkness, looking for any glimpse of the structures spoken of in the stories she'd heard. According to Jin, she had no semblance of time as she navigated her way through the Hewn City, but her estimate is that it took her roughly a week until finally, her eyes caught a bright beam of light shining through in the distance. Temporarily blinded, Jin instinctively shielded herself with her wings. However, upon doing this, once her sight refocused, Jin became aware of how her wings began to glow brightly; the metallic shine of them catching and reflecting the brightness not too far off. Curiosity now piqued, she folded her wings once more, and followed the source of the light not too far off. Suddenly, Jin's journey came to an end, and she found herself in awe of the radiant glow of the rest of the Sunbeam Ruins. The stories had turned out to ring true, and Jin became transfixed with it's beauty. She wandered more for some time, eager to explore every nook and cranny of what she saw as a brand new world. Before long, Jin found herself at the Sundial Terrace. The sundial had been what Jin had wanted to see the most, and for a full day, the curious Imperial observed it. Feeling the strange urge to tinker with it, Jin had yet to lay a single claw on the Terrace, before she was suddenly stopped by a call from below her. Looking down, Jin was now meeting the first dragon since she had left her home: a female Pearlcatcher, who would soon reveal herself as Ondiel of the Radiant Hollow. Startled by what appeared to be a sabotage of the Sundial Terrace while she had been on a stroll throughout her home, Ondiel had been quick to call out the stranger from defaming the ancient structure. However, she was cut off equally as quick, as Jin swooped down and examined Ondiel. Entranced by the Pearlcatcher, Jin found Ondiel to be the most beautiful dragon she had laid eyes on, in awe of how the light reflected off the Pearlcatcher's ice-colored scales. Jin introduced herself, as well as explained to Ondiel of her story, and that she had meant no harm, and had merely been curious about the sundial. Though cautious, Ondiel decided to believe Jin's story. Asking the dragon if she had any place to stay, Jin replied that she did not. Although she had been suspicious, Ondiel felt a twinge of sympathy towards Jin, and after some hesitance, offered the Imperial shelter at her home, the Radiant Hollow. Finding herself drawn to Ondiel, and wanting to see the other dragons that lived within the Sundial Terrace, Jin agreed, and soon met the residents of the Radiant Hollow What was meant to be a short rest in the Hollow ended up becoming a life-long stay, as Jin soon discovered how quickly she developed bonds with the residents of the Hollow. Eager to find a way to fill any niches that the Hollow needed, and to prove herself worthy of the generosity she received, Jin took up an interest in alchemy. Now, she is the Hollow's leading expert in alchemy, and makes frequent visits to Baldwin's Bubbling Brew, always ready to experiment with new materials. Along with this, Jin, pursuing her feelings for Ondiel, managed to win the heart of the haughty Pearlcatcher, whom she still sees as the light of her life. Jin sees herself as a successful, happy individual, and hopes to live here for as long as the Lightweaver sees fit.
