Grumpy, sassy, and often haughty, Quilo can be more than a clawful for the typical dragon. It would seem as if he's always waking up on the wrong side of the bed--too bad he can't actually sleep to use that as an excuse. His mate, Lunette, is his only saving grace--word has it he was even grumpier before finding her, and that his current attitude is actually an improvement. As with the other members of the Four sans Zelena, Quilo is popular with the hatchlings, whom he claims are the bane of his existence. However, if anyone upsets any of the little ones, they should be prepared for a very wrathful Quilo--something it's impossible to prepare for. If you're lucky, you'll see Quilo smile on one of two occasions: when a hatchling has momentarily broken through his icy exterior, or when he's getting his revenge--in the case of the latter, you may want to distance yourself.

Quilo takes his sweet time getting places. If he says he'll be right there, prepare to sit tight for a couple hours. He's not slow--just lethargic at times. "You'd be pretty tired if you never slept, too." If you dare say anything at all in return to this statement, it's considered a wise idea to plug the ears of any hatchling who may be nearby; after all, most parents aren't happy to hear that their child heard profanities. Most adults are scared of Quilo because of his attitude and temper, but truly, this is one of the only ways to get him to warm up to you. "Just don't look at the bags under his eyes--he's self-conscious," his mate says. It's hard to tell if she's joking or not, so it's probably best to heed her advice.

A question the Four often hear is, "So, what do you like to do during the other nine months of the year once your seasonal duty is done?" and each time, Quilo gives a flat look. "Enjoy the freaking warmth," he'll say with a scowl. Of course, he's being entirely serious--how ironic that the winter sprite would despise the cold.

"Death is necessary for a new life. Enjoy the reprieve from life, and prepare for a new one."
