Biography

Lunette - Dove of Peace

Since a young age, Lunette has always been trying to keep the peace--she's very good at it, too. Regardless of when or where she is, she's highly skilled at dispelling bad tempers and resolving arguments, lulling them to calm attitudes and quiet conversations. She's very kind, giving more than necessary and going out of her way to help someone she doesn't even know. Many assume this will get her into trouble one day--they'd be correct, but too late. Even when she was young in her home clan, she got into unsavory situations, but she didn't allow them to darken her attitude or outlook on life.
Lunette came to Kaiana as a hatchling, easily making friends with the other young ones she met there. She was the second eldest hatchling in the group; only Natius was older than her. The two got along wonderfully--Natius was apparently still seeking a new clan; her brother had already left for his before Lunette arrived. As the group of hatchlings grew, many left for their new clans, and Lunette was sad to see her friends go. Such is the way of life, however, and she accepted it; however, no matter how old she got, she was immensely grateful to the gods that she never had to say goodbye to her best friend.

Lunette had long ago made herself a promise--she would live a peaceful life, a happy one; one her mother had been denied. Personality-wise, Lunette took after her mother. A few years after she came of age, Nitesh came to her and requested her to be clan speaker--despite her age, she seemed quite skilled at diffusing arguments than anyone else, and had yet to take up a true role in the clan. Her skill was one that would be most beneficial to the clan, especially if it were used by the speaker. If she wished, a Skydancer could always accompany her when she was doing her duty, perhaps even Natius. She respectfully declined, but requested that should she take a mate, they would accompany her. Nitesh accepted this easily, pleased that the clan had such a being to be their speaker--though the knowing smile on his face made her a bit nervous.

A few years later, during late summer, nearly autumn, the clan was busy, in a stressful kind of way. A decision on whether to move to the Viridian Labyrinth or stay home in the Starfall Isles was the current issue. Dragons were coming and going from the clan so quickly the document keepers were hardly able to keep up, and the storehouse distributor was reporting a food shortage for the third time this month--not only that, but the "nannies" of the clan were reporting that clutch sizes were smaller than normal. Lunette did her best to keep the peace as usual, but for the first time in her life, she felt truly stressed, like everyone else in the clan. With her role, she feared she would be unable to keep the one promise she'd made herself.

Relaxing after a particularly long day in her home, she sighed. If things continued this way, the winter may prove to be deadly. She paused, hearing voices of greeting outside. Normally, dragons only passed through the clan and moved on, very few stayed. Still, it was custom to greet any dragon coming through as though they would be one of their own. Peeking out of her den, she spotted the newcomer--this one was different. Even on a day as hot as today, he wore a heavy, fur-lined white cape. An oddity? She sighed, donning her mantle and wreath, and went outside to greet him with her clan. However, upon arriving in front of him, she shivered--where did that gust of cold air come from?

No one seemed to be worth speaking to--at least, until his narrowed eyes spotted Lunette--and in a voice even colder than the air, he spoke, chilling her to the bone. "My name is Quilo. I seek the one known as Nitesh."

"But that doesn't tell us how you two became mates, Lunette! No fair!"
A soft, amused chuckle rings through the air. "That's a story for another day."
