Biography

Pink Chalcedony
Description
An obsessive fortune teller turned necromancer and mass murderer.

Beckford will happily tell dragons of the riches he sees in their future, even giving clues of which beastclan hideouts to raid, but not of the dangers. He waits for the items he desires to be collected among the rest of the clients riches, then sends the client into a fight he knows they can't win so that he can collect the treasures left behind. It's a living. He just needs enough to buy rare materials to experiment with more effective life bringing magic.

He makes sure that the rest of the clan knows only of the honest sides of his business, and they see him as a strange, but useful and harmless hermit. To be sure to stay on everyone's good side, Beckford does favors for the clan in exchange for them feeling trusting enough to send new trainees his way every now and then.

He stacks his lair with radioactive materials to passively weaken any non-Arcane creature that dares to enter; the deeper one goes into his twisting caves, the more toxic the air itself becomes. At the heart of it, even an Earth Imperial would suffer massive radiation poisoning within minutes succumb long before they could escape. It is only by the natural lead ore deposits surrounding his domain that life can flourish not too far from Beckford's cave.

He has spent so long around these radioactive materials, and channeled so much deeply toxic magic, that he himself has become radioactive. Most smaller dragons will develop signs of radiation sickness within a half hour of being close to him, but fae can quickly experience acute radiation poisoning. The only reason he has not been exiled for this is that the Arcane dominated leadership of the clan is not affected by radiation, and so has not noticed it. Any sudden illness is chalked up to the perpetual sickness in the air. Headaches and vomiting really isn't so uncommon, thus why he tends to train larger dragons like Guardians, Ridgebacks, and Imperials. Were he to spend more time in common areas, his afflictions might not be tolerated within the clan.

Relationships
He often trains groups of young dragons, promising that he was readying them for the Arcanist, or whatever deity they serve, only to use them for the rituals needed to maintain his brother's semi-alive state with minimal decomposition.

Him and his brother, Laharin, don't talk much, but they respect each other deeply. There is much left unsaid about what Beckford has done for him, and they both greatly prefer it this way.

With his constant casting of spells to keep Larharin together, and the intensely radioactive air of his lair, Beckford has started to sprout crystalline growths along his body. The skull he wears can no longer be removed, as the crystals have fused it to him. It doesn't bother him, he never needed to take it off anyway.
