This dragon has impressed their birth clan with their innovative thinking. They are proud of their history, their heritage, and their skills, but they believe there is always room for improvement. Others may say there are some things that can't be improved upon, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't try. Haunt has fought their share of fiends in the dark, but they are most proud of their research in safeguarding their lair and clanmates.

Haunt left Oakrest when they were a young but already accomplished dragon. While they would have been welcome to stay, they knew that there were other challenges beyond the stone chambers of their childhood, and they wanted to find them and meet them.

As a proud member of a tenacious Earth clan and a family of fighters, Haunt knew there was no challenge they couldn't meet. They wandered for a while, putting in a helping claw to hunt monsters or seal areas with protective charms, and eventually came to the Sea of a Thousand Currents.

While they saw no great need to disrupt what spirits Tidelord had gathered to his domain, Haunt also knew that there may be restless spirits on the shore. They had heard rumors of kelpies, sirens, and other troublesome monsters. And they knew that they may be the only dragon to deal with such a threat.

In the midst of their search for trouble, a storm blew in from the sea. Before they could pull some rocks away to create a shelter, the water rushed up and pulled them under.

For all their cleverness, as they were tossed in the storm-tossed surf and sucked deeper under, Haunt was certain it was their time to die. And that was when they met Terwe.

She pulled them to safety from the storm, and her clan's healers, led by Ilrahin, brought them back to the living. As Haunt fully mended, they began to learn more about the clan that saved them. Raised to hunt the monsters and mages that seemed to function amiably in this clan, Haunt's curiosity was sparked. They watched and listened and tried to keep an open mind.

What they saw intrigued them. Those that ordinarily they would hunt without question saved Haunt's life and seemed to be respected and peaceful members of this clan. Okay, well, some of them weren't quite peaceful, but they functioned well enough together as a community. And Haunt knew that it would be disrespectful and wrong to destroy those who would do peaceful work.

It was their curiosity more than anything that made them stay. And also the wariness that they were raised to, knowing that the liches and necromancers that called this place home may well be the end of this sanctuary. Haunt pledged their services to Terwe to protect the clan in the ways that they knew and that may be needed in the future while maintaining a peace between themself and the others who already lived here until such time came that one of them may need to be ended.

During their stay, they have befriended Kerindel, whose solitary nature reminds them very much of some of their birth clan. Sometimes they will ask Kerindel for her assistance with growing certain herbs in this unusual clime. And sometimes they enjoy reminiscing with a fellow native of Dragonhome about the places they left behind.

They also get along very well with Pompfunebere. The nocturne's devotion to the caretaking of the dead reminds Haunt of Sangue, the Guardian of the Dead in Oakrest. Haunt will spend much of their time among the clan devising rituals and seals to keep the dead, well, dead. They always discuss their plans with the little undertaker, and the two have reached a healthy respect.

Despite everything, Haunt has also befriended Ilrahin, the lich healer. Even though they were very wary of the Nocturne initially, Haunt has come to understand his motives and intentions. Continuing to help others, that is an idea Haunt cannot argue with.

They still travel, mostly around the outskirts of the clan and around the shore. They believe that they must do anything they can to protect those who may walk the shore or the sea. In this way, they keep their skills sharp and experiment with new ways of quelling spirits and destroying the undead.

While Haunt still doesn't swim well, they are becoming an adept sailor and have learned many lessons about the dangers of the sea. They no longer take this area so lightly in their travels, but are now happy to call it home.
