Biography
Alastaire • handsome little man
![]() ![]() |
p.[AL-as-tair]
General
A proud little prince - he's as self-important as his mother and at least twice as his father. An adamant, determined, and stubborn fellow, he has very strong opinions on the conduct of others and often finds himself frustrated when those around him fail to "observe the level of etiquette one should expect from a well-socialized dragon!" He's practically-minded and not very imaginative, but ultimately has a kind heart and will hold his tongue for those he cares about, sparing them the chastising. Alastaire loves music and the arts and is easily charmed by displays of extravagance, flair, elegance ~ He wants nothing more than to be read as ~mature~ and respectable by everyone around him, but often reads as stuffy or stuck-up. ( He's also kind of a mama's boy.)
~
After striking out on his own after a peaceful upbringing in the embrace of the Reedcleft Ascent, Alastaire headed straight east and spent a harrowing half-year around the Wiretangle Walk. He would never admit it, but it was definitely cowardice above all else that prompted him to leave. Such an environment doesn't suit a dragon of delicate constitution! A short tour along the coast led Ala to a welcoming tropical paradise not at all far from his birthplace. Currently, he's enjoying the hospitality extended to guests - once a dragon decides to stay longer than a fortnight, he's told, they're expected to contribute to the clan... "Contribution" isn't one of Alastaire's strong suits, but he'll cross that bridge when he gets to it.
~
Ala hemmed and hawed at the job opportunities the Grotto and its inhabitants presented to him, turning up his nose at each as politely as he could. The little Fae was far too careful of his appearance (and, ironically, squeamish around insects) to offer to hunt and gather, and even desk-work in the Postworks proved too demanding for Alastaire's constitution - he complained of light-headedness due to the high altitude of the Zephyr Steppes. It was pure coincidence, then, that Lythrum let slip while preparing Alastaire's special-ordered dinner of Soylent Yellow that Sunbeam Grotto had no form of money management. Ala was shocked - he had been instructed by private tutors since he could walk, each of whom had impressed into him the importance of handling one's finances. Perhaps this would be a way he could contribute! |
