Fiero desperately wants to fit in with the elite socialites, but the reason why is unknown to most. He keeps information about his past out of the light, leading to some speculation that he has a... not so desireable background. Something about being an orphan... At any rate, he has a real ""fake it 'til you make it attitude"" in front of people he doesn't know too well.

It's true that Fiero didn't grow up in the best of situations, but to be honest he doesn't complain about it too much. He refuses to burden others with his experience and barely remembers most of the more horrible things anyway. Ardeur is really helping him work past that.
