From My Secret Santa.....

“Hey! Hey! Celeste!” A voice calls from outside the place Celeste’s clan calls home. “I found a thing and I want you to have it! It’s a super neat thing! If you come outside you will see!”

The voice would repeat itself until a dragon would emerge from the lair. Of course, going outside there would be no Apogee, not the real one anyway. A small bird sized version of Apogee sits on the head of a stone statue. The moment any dragon emerges, the little Apogee would wave at them.

“Hi! I can’t tell if you’re Celeste or not, but you’re probably one of her friends!” The mini Apogee moves to stand on his hind legs. “I hope you will get this to her! It took like…half my adopted family’s messenger birds to get it here. It’s really heavy.”

As if on cue, the sounds of a variety of different bird calls start up. It continues for a moment before a rather large group of birds takes off and goes elsewhere.

“I wasn’t sure if any of them were sick, since my clan lives in the Scarred Wasteland, so that is why I didn’t bring this closer.” The illusion pauses, then waves its clawed hands about in a frantic gesture. “I promise the thing I brought isn’t sick! I had both our healers make sure! They are pretty convinced it can’t get sick anyway.”

Mini Apogee sits back down and grins a wide tooth-filled grin. “Anyway! I don’t know what your clan celebrates around this time of the year, but everyone likes gifts! Yay, gifts! I hope you like them all!”

The illusion jumps up suddenly, and then seems to explode into a bunch of sparkly bits. The statue Apogee left behind shifts very suddenly into a new pose. It is down on one knee and holding out a Sunrise Hibiscus in a very dramatic way. The theatrical appearance of the sculpture is only slightly ruined by the pair of pinkish goggles on its face and the fact that it’s sticking its tongue out. That and the fact that apparently Apogee’s idea of ‘wrapping’ is to tie kind of strange ribbon around it.

About thirty seconds after the statue strikes its pose, the glittery bits of exploded illusion reform into the mini Apogee, who gasps loudly and shrieks.

“I TOTALLY FORGOT TO TELL YOU THE COOL THING ABOUT THIS THING!” The illusion’s tail and antennae flick about in somewhat random conflicting directions. Mini Apogee looked exceptionally excited about this.

“So, I took my bits of treasure to buy one because I thought they made the best hat holders. Anyway, I had no idea where they came from since I bought it from another dragon. A few days later the matriarch took some others to fight in the coliseum and they kept bringing back all these strange chests. I opened a few of them for fun, and out of nowhere, BAM!” The illusion created a mini explosion illusion between its hands. “I found a different colored one! Apparently they live in itty bitty boxes. I have no idea how they fit in there, but the different colored one told me that the one I bought also came from a box! How crazy is that? Anyway, that’s it I swear! If you’re Celeste, bye big sister! If not, be sure to tell my older sister about how cool this thing is, and I hope you have a good day!”

And with that, the illusion seems to implode into nothingness.
