Yahaira's other title is The Matchmaker. Her parents' unusual soulbond has given her the unique ability of seeing the bond of others. While soulbonds are rare, soulmates are actually fairly common. Yahaira has made a living off of finding soulmate pairs and bringing them together. Despite her title, the soulmates Yahaira finds are more often platonic than romantic, though just as beautiful.

Until she began to see that she herself couldnt find a single match for herself. She began to grow jealous of the bonds she helped forge. So when one day a client didn't pay, she got so furious that she fought him in a bloody and gruesome battle. She was exiled from her clan and spent months in the wilds.

Whenever she encountered dragon hunting parties, she would fight and kill off one half of each pair she found and then escape. Her blessed ability became used for violence and to hurt all those that she was jealous.

Of course, the living halves of the pairs wouldnt rest until she was found. Fleeing south she encountered a fire ambassador who offered her safe harbour in a hidden cave system with a large and well guarded clan, in return for loyalty and the promise that she wouldn't harm again.

The fire ambassador knew that Yahaira only hurt because she felt hurt, and knew in time she would grow out of it and her useful ability would be used to help others again.
