Marshall has never known his parents. He awoke alone in the plateau, with little knowledge of who or what he was. His mind twisted and turned as easily as his body, and as he wandered, he learned there were more like him, and several who weren't. He learned the language easily, and always focused on what he wanted to say, especially with how his mind worked.

While most recognized him as what was known as a spiral, Marshall had an odd quirk, perhaps born of his desire to mirror those like him. He preferred his left claw over his right, and he knotted himself anticlockwise from his perspective. Those quirks sometimes had other look at him with disgust, despite his careful words.

It was finally one clan that took him in. They didn't notice, or at least didn't care, about his quirks of how he spiraled and which claw he took to. He was extra careful with his words until he noticed several, though not all, of the others in this clan used their left hands.

It was a bit of a brotherhood. He enjoyed that much. Others enjoyed his clear speaking. Because of that, he became one of those who spoke for them at events.

At one such event in the Tangled Wood, he came across another spiral. She dressed in bright colors that clashed with her scales, but to him, it seemed controlled. Her careful wordings that sounded naive but were insults didn't help. There was a certain clarity in her large eyes. She knew well what she implied with every thing she said. She knew the impropriety her statements held.

While she didn't open up to him when he called her out on her little game, she did drop the act and behave with him. They instead set up correspondence, where he first learned of her hatred of the parties her family sent her to, and eventually everything about her little game.

Then, one day, while he was with his clan, she showed up, asking for refuge. He let her come in and introduced her to the council. From there, he watched her defensive nature drop. It was a steady friendship that slowly turned to something more, and both were very glad to be with the other.

Marshall is a fandragon of Oliver Marshall, one of the three eponymous members of The Brothers Sinister romance novel series. He stars in The Heiress Effect, the second full novel, and fourth installment of the series.

Also, he was the first Moon/Moon/X SkiSpin dragon. Alas, I never took a screen shot, as older dragons now have the gene as well. He's still the first result for Moon/Moon/X SkiSpinGlim.
