Biography
■
fulgur lightning representative | ■■■■■■■■■■ |
The world does not revolve around the completion of a single task, but Fulgur operates that way anyways. Once, they were capable of multitasking, able to address problems as they arose and more than willing to set something aside to tackle a different project. Among all the workers in the Tempest Spire, they were known for their flexibility and enthusiasm.
The trouble began, though, when the Coppercoil Creepers arrived. The mechanical spiders, a regular pest throughout the Lightning Farm, often crept through each summer in the dry season, gnawing through everything in sight. The more metal there was, the more attracted the creatures were, hungering for more. Every dragon was to be at the ready to defend the spires from the arachnid onslaught, no matter the time of day. So Fulgur was ready, as always.
But that year, the Creepers were worse than ever, arriving in ugly droves, legs clicking and tapping on the spires as they rose. They made horrible mechanical screeches as they fought the dragons of the Farm, and when they fell, they whirred and screamed, a horrible cacophony to witness. Fulgur tried to focus through it all, but with all the noise and fighting, they were bound to slip sooner or later, and when they did, the Creepers were on them.
They thought they would never see the sun again, buried under a writhing mass of spiders. It choked them, cut off from the world, pinned against the dry earth. All it had taken was a moment of focus elsewhere, and the result had been death.
When the Creepers were finally driven back, though, Fulgur arose a different dragon. They were grateful for the cool night wind across their face and the restored feeling in their limbs. But since then, their focus has narrowed. They move with mechanical jerks and jolts, and once they set their mind to something, they cannot bear to change objectives. The attack changed them, and though they yearn for the loose days of their youth, it seems to an impossible goal.
For now, they have taken up residence with the coven, serving as the witches' immediate link to the Stormcatcher. It does not require more than one train of thought at a time, and thus they are caught between goals less and less often.
