Akiel, son of Kova and Miesh, took to his father's heritage from a young age. When Kova would take his son out into the fields and show him the finer points of cultivating root vegetables, young Akiel would show far more interest in the simple irrigation system his father had rigged along the furrows. The technology was far from complicated, but it was technology nonetheless and Akiel would spend hours trying to improve upon the design. As he got older, he began inventing contraptions of his own. His first great accomplishment was designing a mill along the river flowing near the town. Upon its completion, this provided electricity for the main streets of the village allowing for better, safer lighting and negating the need for the farmers to waste time and energy lighting lamps every evening. The mill saved the town a considerable amount of coin that would have otherwise been spent on lamp oil, wicks and lighting poles as well as monetary compensation for whoever was assigned to maintain the lamps every evening.

This innovation led the town council to appoint Akiel as the settlement's mechanic. His primary job is to maintain the mill, though he also does odd jobs for the dragons around town fixing any and all equipment.
