"I know a thing or two about wrangling troublemakers, so don't let me catch you misbehaving!"

Personality:
At first impressions, Valentyn appears cold and hardened. He can appear intimidating and stand-offish to dragons who don't know him well. He himself likes to think he's tough. On the inside though, he has a soft spot for familiars, hatchlings, love and dragons who have lost their way. He secretly reads bedtime stories to the hatchlings in the Nursery, a secret which Jebae keeps quite well. Valentyn isn't the brightest dragon, leading him to act with his heart more so than his head. In addition to this, he may say things which he doesn't mean, he often says things before thinking about what he's actually saying first. He likes to act as though he's a bouncer from time to time. The Betelgeuse Clan Guardians like to tease him for this, but their mocking remarks go over his head most of the time. Deep down, he just wants to be someone's hero.

Backstory:
Much like Belris, Valentyn also never got to meet his parents. He is unsure what happened to them, but all he knows is that from the day he was hatched, he was alone. Valentyn became hardened by the harsh and unforgiving climate of The Southern Icefield. He lived his hatchling years trudging through thick snow and feasting on frozen corpses of smaller lifeforms, usually making him feel ill due to his natural seafood diet. As he grew older, he joined his first clan by offering the clan protection. Although, he soon discovered his desire to be the father he never had, and experience love for the first time.
This prompted him to have three Imperial hatchlings with the first love of his life, an Imperial female named Astar. Their partnership didn't last long however, as Valentyn made another revelation. He was rather...noncommittal. Due to him having to fight to survive every day of his life, the comfort and reassurance which one partner gave him felt oddly empty. Because of this, Valentyn went on to have many partners in many different clans. Eventually, he grew tired of the constant conquest for more mates when he joined the Amaranth Clan as one of it's first members. After failing to win over Belris's love (she seen through his intent quickly), he then realised that it might be best for him to retire his love life forever. This was until a beautiful Coatl by the name of Jebae joined the Clan as the caretaker of the hatchlings.
He fell hard for Jebae, although he found it difficult to admit at first. In addition to this, Jebae joined not long after the death of a fellow Amaranth Clan member, Harmonious, which Valentyn grew rather close to. To his surprise, Jebae ended up confronting him about his feelings for her, which she described as being "pretty obvious". From that moment, Valentyn hasn't felt the need to move on to another mate. He believes this is because Jebae is his soulmate, but Jebae thinks its because she keeps him in check which is something that he desperately needs.

Notable Moments:

The Demise of Harmonious.
"I remember it like it was yesterday, what an awful time that was. Poor Siarl was so distraught, I don't think she ever explained what happened to her hatchlings. I wonder if they ever found out about their father. We were pretty close, him and I. He used to crack the funniest jokes, that means a lot coming from me because I have no sense of humour (at least according to the other clan members). I don't think I've been able to laugh since he died. I should check in on Siarl sometime..."

The Vandalising Visitor.
"It started off as a peaceful day, hmpth, until that troublemaker arrived. I'm not sure how he got past the Betelgeuse Clan members...but he did. I caught him vandalising the Memorial Wall which is very important and sacred to our clan! I was FUMING! I scared him because I'm big and tough obviously, the fear in his eyes was quite hilarious. I BANISHED him from the clan quickly! Still, the wall was vandalised. I took this issue to Belris immediately and I showed her the damage. The name he wrote referring to himself as was "Balestrieri" in very scribbled writing. To my surprise, Belris said to leave it. I admittedly argued with her about this. She said that it wasn't up to debate and that eventhough it is vandalism, it's still apart of clan history, and that no one who enters the clan should be forgotten and blah blah blah...I think it's ridiculous, but I respect her wishes. It is her wall afterall..."
