Personality:
Belris is the Matriarch of the Amaranth Clan. She is a calm and collected leader, who has a very formulated moral compass. Belris believes that no life should fade into obscurity, even if they have lived a life of wickedness. Belris values family, honesty, strength and bonding. She is very monotone in the way she speaks, and despite making an effort to remember every dragon which resides inside the clan, many have got the impression she is emotionally cold. It is unknown how she truly feels towards her intention, but what is evident to some is that she fears abandonment.
She only shows emotion when she feels as though she will be abandoned. However, when someone is in need, she will be the first individual to take them under her wing, no matter how troubled they may be. After all, she is somewhat troubled herself. She takes the vulnerability which her experiences have given her and makes it into her strength. Belris isn't scared of dying for her cause, which may be her downfall one day.

Backstory:
When Belris was hatched, her parents abandoned her almost instantly after seeing the fact her eyes are swirled. Belris never knew her parents at all due to this fact. In addition to this, she never seen their faces properly because she struggles with partial blindness. Belris struggles to make out faces and sees the world as mostly a cool-toned blur. This made it hard for her to survive on her own, but she prevailed nonetheless. It was almost as if her very being recognised that if she were to cave into her condition (being a vulnerable hatchling without care, without sight, left to fend for herself in the middle of nowhere) she would die. Wandering mindlessly for miles, she smelt a floral like smell. She brushed up against the smell, and felt a soft texture. Stumbling, she fell into the texture, to find more of the texture. This caused her to have a great awakening. A voice called out to her, informing her of the texture being amaranth. The voice told her that it was alright for her to eat the amaranth as it could sustain her for a short while (due to her diet being insects). She proceeded to eat some amaranth in order to survive another day.
A few years later, Belris came across a field of random flowers. Still a lone wolf, she decided it wouldn't hurt to spend some time within the field of flowers. In the corner of her eye, she seen a familiar shape and colour. She leaned in closer to the flower, letting it brush upon her cheek. It was most certainly amaranth. She felt a sense of shame that she had forgotten about the flower which had helped her survive back when she was a hatchling. Because of this, she took the amaranth to study it and learn more about the flower. She discovered that that the name "Amaranth" (which was derived from the Greek language) means "unfading". Furthermore, she learnt that Amaranth flowers are often seen as a symbol of immortality, and are given to lovers as a symbol of unfading love. Because of this, she sworn to name her future clan with amaranth and to fill her future clan with amaranth flowers as well.
