Marengo
"It's okay to be a glowstick. Sometimes we have to break before we shine." Dragons from the Wind Flight are known for their enthusiastic and carefree personas, and while Marengo may not be known for the same, it's safe to say that she gets just a tad over-excited when it comes to poisoning another dragon. Born into a clan obsessed with hot air balloons, Marengo was a slight disappointment when she made it clear to her parents that while yes, she enjoyed flying, it's only when she's within three feet of the ground, and only ever under the cover of the forest. Marengo does not understand the fun in jumping off a hot air balloon at the top of the troposphere, and probably never will. After finding no avail in persuading her otherwise, Marengo's parents reluctantly agreed to her profession in the path of medicine, which was probably one of the best things that's happened to Marengo, but definitely not the best that happened to her birth clan. For indeed, it only took her two weeks to complete her clan's entire flock of hot-air balloons with miniature gardens including basil, anise, and clove. Which is great, if you're hungry for some herbs or in need of some medicine, but probably not so great when you're actually trying to get off the ground. |
Though Aloe is technically the Burrow's primary healer, every so often incidents that may or may not involve Goat takes her off duty. While she's absent, it's Marengo who takes her place in tending to all maladies: corporeal or magical, the latter more often than the former. Because of Goat's...er...rather impressive antics, Marengo has ended up being more of a permanent healer within the clan. And while Marengo doesn't mind helping out, she's getting tired of telling every returning patient to stay out of the tunnel labeled "DO NOT ENTER". Compared to some of the more enigmatic members in the Burrow, Marengo is rather passive, and may be the only dragon who can actually stay calm when told to. On occasions she's been known to be mildly calculating, but since she hasn't been known to do anything evil with any of her calculative thoughts, she's probably as innocent as said to be. Probably. Marengo only charges a little for healing powder and potions, and charges a little more if you want to make sure you actually get the right one. So if you want to poison someone, you pay one treasure, and if you want to heal someone, that's ninety-nine more. |
