Zaid is one of the children of the Clan of the White Tower's Matriarch, and as such, he is expected to hold to a certain standard of ferocity and fair leadership. The Matriarch sends her children to other clans in exchange for wards of similar status in order to secure alliances in the growing fight against the Beastclans and the ever-looming Shade. How Zaid grows and develops and the dragon they become--that is largely up to their care and training with their new clans.

It was a simple agreement forged after a battle against the beastclans, Peros would be sent to clan White Tower, Zaid to Attica. With them, the future of their two clans hung in the balance. He was still a hatchling when he came to Attica, sent with all the weight and responsibility most ambassadors would refuse. His mothers words of ferocity and fairness ringing in his ears, as a result he vowed to learn how both the pen, and the sword worked. He studied with the clans advisers, squired for their bravest gladiator, but after a harpy battle left him bed ridden, he wanted nothing more than seek revenge.

He spent weeks in recovery, learning how to walk with the help of another young Wildclaw. Together the two fell in love, and the image of revenge slipped away as they sired a nest, but it would seem their love was not to last. Her heart grew bitter as their children grew, saying they stole away her beauty, so with a heavy heart he sent his children off much like his mother had done him.

After their separation, Zaid lost his last shred of interest in Attica. He refused to stay with the main clan, the fear of seeing her disappointed face haunting him, preferring a life in the wild where the ghost of revenge found him again. He wishes the clan the best, but has no desire to see the outcome. For the sake of his mother, Zaid approached the clan's council requesting his return to White Tower. The conversation was a brief one, and though they seemed saddened by the young Wildclaw's request, no one objected.

His goodbyes were swift, refusing the grand ceremony the Matriarch insisted on. He needed to start over. "Perhaps", he thought "I'll come across another clan of promise." And with that Zaid set off just as the sound of a harpies cry roared in the distance.

Zaid returned home in the fall, in the festive wake of a successful Dominance battle. Though his birth clan was in the final days of the celebratory feast, they were pleased to see him and welcomed him to join them. He sat at the table with his father and new young siblings, and found that his heart was still sick and sour. The breaking point was when he caught the cold, arcane eye of his mother, and realized that she knew and did not approve of the true conditions of his return. He fled the feast table as quickly as he could.

He had taken to the wilderness surrounding his previous assignment, becoming more wild and volatile as time went on. Returned to his birth clan, he felt out of place. It was too cultured, too curtailed to the politicks his mother seemed hell-bent on pushing. He threw himself into the training yard, but the Imperian Captain he remembered from his own hatchling days had gone on to serve another clan and the practice yard felt as hollow and foreign as the rest.

A new start
Hoping that he would find somewhere he truly would belong, Zaid went to live with a Warrior clan that lived a simpler life without much for material things. He was brought before the clan leader, a female wildclaw by the name of Karma. As he told her of his past a wicked smiled curled upon the female wildclaw's visage. "Ah yes you are from our new friends from the White tower . You have come to the right place, child. Here you can forget the past and those that have hurt you. We will guide you and in the end they will see what they've lost. I see the potential in you to excel farther than anyone may have anticipated."

Relationships:

Moscato is the clan Matriarch, and Zaid's mother. Zaid returned to the clan of the White Tower hoping for emotional support, but found no pity with his mother. As far as she was concerned, he had failed the missive given to him as a birthright, and he will need to prove himself and earn her esteem and respect back.

Eta was the dragoness whom Zaid thought to be the love of his life. They fell in love when she helped nurse him back to health after his accident, but they grew apart after the hatched a clutch together. She grew to detest him and he became entirely bitter and tried to avoid her, until finally it drove him to petition to return home to escape her.
